Feedback from the demo? - RandomPHD - 09-08-2011 10:45 PM Is this the wrong or right place to give some feedback from the tropico 4 demo? As I'd like to share some first impressions with the devs. Oh yeah, first post too. Hello
RE: Feedback from the demo? - ArmaDeFuego - 10-08-2011 03:25 AM I'm guessing it is. I just posted another topic on things I noticed in my first playthrough of the demo.
RE: Feedback from the demo? - Arnagast - 17-08-2011 11:46 AM Played the Tropico 4 demo yesterday and I wasn't sure what to make of it at first. Lets start with the graphics, first impressions I personally thought they looked either too cartoony with really bright colours at times or the colours seemed washed out with a grainy look depending on the day/night cycle or clouds going overhead. Looking from a distance (how I like to play it and comparing it to Tropico 3) thought I was playing some early version of Tropico 1 (thats how it seems to me anyway). Yet the water looks fine and the waterfalls I thought was a nice tuch. The rocks on the beach were awful looking like someone copy and pasted them on, gues what im saying is the rocks don't blend in nicely. These were the first things that I noticed which i'm sure can be fixed. I just thought for a demo it wasn't the best to entice new people into the game. The UI threw me out from playing Tropico 3 a little but I soon started to get used to it. I like the progression bars to the lower right saying you have 100 fish out of 500 to complete your task... im not normally one for wanting things easy but this was quite handy indeed. A tornado turned up and wrecked some structures which was frightning to watch but also exciting at the same time. Love the way you now know what structures where there. (Had a hard time remembering what structures were wrecked in Tropico 3 as the screen stayed still while an earthquake shook and even though it told you afterwards: by the time you looked around the screen I had forgotten what was there.) Im glad the game is the same with improvements unlike other games these days which basicly butcher what the game stood for in the first place. Overall I would like the graphics to be on-par with T3 and T4 will be the game for me indeed. The devs intentionally suppressed graphics in the Demo, to keep its file size down, they promised much better graphics in the actual game. RE: Feedback from the demo? - dazzzer - 17-08-2011 08:05 PM For someone who is new to the tropico brand i found it very good and adictive and i just cant wait to get in to the finer details of this game . there was only One thing that bugged me and its when you pick something to build it shows a shadow of the building so you can move it to where you want on the map ,but it wont let you rotate round the shadow of the building only when its fully built on the map . RE: Feedback from the demo? - Ap2000 - 17-08-2011 08:14 PM There are SEVERAL threads about Tropico-feedback already... |
