Challenge Editor (usage) questions - dtolman - 09-09-2011 12:08 PM Is there a manual or guide to the challenge editor? I've been playing around with it and have some specific questions. Is there a way to change the default building layout when building a mission? Is there a way to make it more difficult to IMPORT (i see options for exports in the sequence editor)? Is there a way to detect if a faction disaster is occurring, and disable it? Thanks! I've been playing around with it and have some specific questions. What do you mean by "default building layout"? If you mean can you move the initial buildings it places for you (palace, construction office, etc.), then yes, you can. If you mean buildings being "disabled" in the building menu, I seem to remember it being done in the campaign (Penultimo has lost the blueprints, or something like that), so it should be possible. Not sure how though. RE: Challenge Editor (usage) questions - dtolman - 09-09-2011 03:16 PM I actually meant both - controlling the initial building placement, and disabling buildings that I don't want built later. Are both done through the sequence editor? Well, for the initial buildings, you can just use the destruction tool (under Infrastructure, I think) to remove everything, and rebuild it where you want. The palace is in the "special buildings" at the top (along with the fort and the pyramid). As for disabling buildings - I haven't tried yet, but I can't imagine doing it anywhere beside the sequence editor. I wish we could see how some of the campaign scenarios were built - it would help a lot. Yes.. i completly agree.. why they wont let us see the way they do things is beyond me. It would make things 10x easier. I was really hoping for a little support on this, or a guide or something. But yea, just being able to veiw their missions would atleast let us see how they did things. I'm starting to get the hang of using the sequence editor (tip - even if an event defaults to year 0, you really want to use 1950 in there), but still can't find anything that changes imports. Really disappointing, as I had hoped to create some scenarios where you can't import your way out of a resource shortage. |
