Skip the time bonus for level 5 forum, obviously... your money is better spent on insta-builds. Get the essentials, sausage, bread, cloth, and have your vineyard setup ahead of time so you don't waste time waiting on it to build or something when that tablet comes up.

Get every other time bonus tablet besides the level 5 forum upgrade. And make sure you're planning your layout and building coverage somewhat well so that you can achieve the happiness % needed to finish. Also, make sure when you are building things that you que up several ahead of time. It seems to work better as far as the flow of the slaves and the resources/etc when you have them qued up and waiting to be built. Also don't waste your free insta-builds on houses or other cheap buildings, save them for the things like school, prefect, etc....

It took me like 4 or 5 tries, but the last time when i finally got it I had like 7 minutes left to spare so go figure.

Oh, and make sure you have 2 or 3 timber cutting camps, since you are building like a maniac it's important you're never lacking for timber.

The trick is , that when a house is wealthy , you can appropriate their money.

OK, I'm new to this game, just bought it last week. I was having a LOT of trouble with Colonia Julia.

The key seems to be the strategic placement of buildings and monuments.

When I won, I did not build a marble quarry, or build in the warehouse area at all. I built a trade post and bought some marble. Nor did I build the Herbalist or the Prefecture, and I didn't upgrade the forum past level 3.

Be sure that shops/service buildings cover as many houses as possible. Build two if necessary. I wound up with 53% happy citizens.
