Ok, First, I'd like to ask how to stablize my Economy.. I find it so hard to do since I'm a newbie with Tropico.

2nd, What ways can I do to help boost my Swiss Account? I know of Building Permit Edict, the Pyramid on the Island and Childhood Museums set to "Retirement Fund". Any other ways to add to these?

Lastly, Tourism, I rarely touch this cause its too costly. Any tips so I can reach the goal number of tourists before my mandate ends?

I would really appreciate "detailed", easy to understand explanations since I am a beginner at Tropico. Thanks! and Peace Out.

Banks can help with your swiss bank account. There is an option to funnel money to your account. Also, when you get a pop up message in the game giving you a problem/opportunity, you will sometimes have a choice that will put money in your swiss bank account.

Also as far as tourism, make sure you dont rely only on tourism, especially early game. Build another industry such as farming/logging so you can get money quick. I like to stick with hotels becuase they hold a decent amount of people, you can build them without electricity and they arent that expensive. Make sure you build garages close to them your workers will build them quick and use your avatar for the build speed bonus.

Also, make sure you pick traits that will help tourism. One will also give you a free hotel. Dont worry about starting your tourism industry until you have some entertainment or the tourists wont have anything to spend there money on. The quicker you can get the tourists in and out by spending their money, the quicker you can reach you goal.

Funny thing is, that when I played 3rd mission in campaign, I relied only, and only on tourism. I never had any other source of income (exempt housing and services, but that's normal). And in that mission you don't even have access to advanced tourism buildings that need power plant to function, or airports.

There is one advantage of early tourism over other things. And that's that is doesn't require educated workforce to function. It also give some balance to male/female workforce, if you have too much lumber camps or mines, with some exclusive jobs for females. Still, when you get educated workforce, you get access to power plant that will unlock some other tourism buildings, as well as airport which also needs educated workforce. But even then, most of the tourism workers will be uneducated.

i dont know if it still works, but to get money in the retirement fund, you can issue the special building permit, place a few expensive buildings, then cancel the edict and afterwards cancel the buildings. repeat that as needed. the money that was put in the swiss bank account will not be refunded and stays in the account.

No, in T3 you get money from permit only after building is finished.

For economic pointers, check the Economy 101 thread. As to the building permit, I go about it 2 ways. Either I enact it right at the beginning, so that all my buildings will go to my slush fund, or I wait, saving up as much money as i can, then in the in the last 5 years or so, I max out the construction workers salaries, as well as add an extra 1 or 2, and build a row of power plants. Send your presidente in for building bonus, and voila, that should pop a quick 50k in ur account. Land issues? Replace power plants with rum distellery. Hounds

PS: Banks, banks, & more banks. Provides college jobs, pours money into your slush fund, you can have unlimited banks. Banks can always be switched into money makers (offshore accounts) as well.
