Tropico 5 sudden windows crash - jsull36 - 05-01-2018

attached are my logs

Sudden full windows crash sometimes in the first 5 minutes, sometimes hours into gameplay.

this is a new problem, screen freezes, whole screen turns a bunch of funny colors, sound gets all messed up and then windows restarts

The WM QUIT is a window call to the application (the game). So we need the windows error logs.
Go to EVENT VIEWER open the application log and look for the app crash error. Post the contents of the Details TAB. And have a look at the APPDATA MICROSOFT WINDOWS REPORTS look for the Tropico fault folder open it and there s ho u ld be a report.wer file

Post the contents of that file. Notepad opens it.

Sorry my bad - WER files are in
C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive - look for the Tropico entry.

and in Event Viewer - the easiest way to get the Application Error details is to
Click on the "Level" TAB and let the application finish sorting - Errors will be at the top
Then look in the source column for "Application Error" - you may have to scroll down a bit
Open each one up and in the General TAB you will see "Faulting application name:" the one we need will say Tropico5.exe
Copy and Paste the details from the "DETAILS" TAB.

This is the only one that happened today at all and has happened 3 times over prior to the windows crash and i opened this ticket shortly after the crash happened,
it has been crashing often lately and this application has tons of crash reports, probably 7/10 of them

I also found the folder your talking about for the report archive but there is not anything there but three folders concerns "non critical" each one has one
report file in it just named "report.wer" stating nowhere about tropico in any of them either
