Cannery doesn't work? - Mike2839 - 07-03-2010 04:29 PM

So the cannery never makes money for me what am I doing wrong? I even put the cannery right next to the fishermen's warf and still nothing..... Tips anyone? *Note I know that the cannery can also process pineapple and another food but it still doesn't work***

All your food is probably being consumed by your own people, only excess food gets processed and exported.

and 1 fisherman wharf won't be that much of a profit.

I am sure you can find exact figures somewhere, but building 3-4 wharfs and 3-4 pinnaple farms plus maybe some corn farms should be enough to feed your people with tons of extra. All of the extra food will go to your cannery.

Now keep an eye on the cannery's input store. If it gets to be really large, you will notice that raw pinnaple/fish is getting exported... this means build another cannery.
It really is a balancing act to getting maximum profits.

I always prefer to have a bit of extra pinnaple being exported, than to have any factories without an input.

Hope that makes sense (this is my favorite industry)...

As Timo said though - your people need to be fed first - and proximity to your fisheries doesn't affect where the food goes.
