Beaches for the local, why not? - Little Dragon - 24-06-2011 04:09 AM Obviously, Tropico is related to sea-world and its residents' lives are surely attached with sea. But, see how many activities Tropicans deal with the sea? Only fishing, oil exploitation. I think so little. 4 sides of the island is surrounded by the sea but Tropicans have no hobby with the sea? So strange! I suggest Tropicans must have right to enjoy the beaches instead of only the tourists as of now. And, the beaches, they must be modified for more broad, wide shape instead of the quite stuffy, neat ones as of now. My idea that while we can't build any entertainment building in the isle, our people can themselves enjoy the beaches. This feature will influence to the hobby index and will be affected by the environmental polution (e.g, extreme oild exploitation nearby) RE: Beaches for the local, why not? - Maximo - 24-06-2011 02:50 PM Great idea Little Dragon. I think this could be done in one of two ways: 1) Public Beach: a new "building" (maybe a Lifeguard station with a change room), much like the Beach Site tourist attraction, that Tropicans can visit and change into their trunks/suits to lounge on the beach. 2) Open Roaming: alternatively, if the devs could program Tropicans to "visit" the beach more often, not going to any particular building, but rather strolling down to the sea-side and just hanging out. Either of these should boost entertainment and even environmental appeasement a bit. A note on point 2, I'd love to see Tropicans in general doing more random things. I find it funny to occasionally stumble upon a random Tropican out in the middle of nowhere and wonder to myself what they've been up to. It would be great to have more emotes/random activities that Tropicans run off and engage in that aren't directly tied to work or visiting a particular building. RE: Beaches for the local, why not? - Little Dragon - 24-06-2011 02:57 PM Yeah, And so many funs will be created: people swim, rides, being drown happens, shark-attacks, BBQ on the beaches, and more. Plz help, utilize your imagination . @maximo "Open roaming": I think such kind of beach won't need any construction. It may need a Lifeguard only. Change room? I'm wondering if it is neccesary for the free beaches. This feature will get involved with Entertainment, Health, Environment Index. RE: Beaches for the local, why not? - Tropi'je - 24-06-2011 05:09 PM i beleive all attractions should be usable by locals.. No mater what it is. Its entertainment, period.. I also think all tropicans should have a favorite entertainment venue. (just like in T1) Include every attraction there is from the list. It would really help expand the idea of getting people happy with certain styles.. Build a cabbert island, Kick the people out that want restraunts.. Id still love to see a nude beach/nightlife DLC.. a few upgrades to a few buildings, with an M rating for 5-10 bucks. Id bet it would sell like wild fire. But outside of that, Id like to see a few more beach settings. Public, Tropicans are urged to use the beach for entertainment (locals increase beach use 100%) No kids allowed, (increases over all qaulity for high class, But families wont go) Let the booze flow... more likely to attract spring breakers, (Bonus rating of +20 to 14-35) Bonus revenue. I say say 14, cause i would be using the worker model to code from.. (aka you have a job you can go, its the way pubs work i think as well.. Hmm i think its time to fire up T3 for another play and find out) random local tropicans automatically flag a hospitol as there next stop.. (aka the need gets bumbed to healthcare as the next need to fill. you know someone that went to the beach and ended up in the hospitol right? ) - religous, (similar to the stadium) Its a family place.. +10 over all, +religious. Pretty obvious, must be part of a family to go, married people, and people with kids. (could you code this to code go as a group? that would be really neat.. see a whole family pack up and goto the beach) RE: Beaches for the local, why not? - astondb9 - 24-06-2011 06:09 PM I think it would be good to be able to build promenades (I think you may call them something else in the US) that tropicans are attracted to walk on even if it makes their route slightly longer for a raise in happiness and beauty in the area. It always seems strange to me to have a hotel skyscraper right on the beach, is there no tide? no coastal flooding? no erosion? RE: Beaches for the local, why not? - vladicorp - 24-06-2011 10:29 PM I want to see more people walking on the beach and not only on the beach site. I want to see the beach some kind alive RE: Beaches for the local, why not? - saxon1 - 24-06-2011 11:04 PM I think in tropico 1 people just liked to walk around. I saw kids going into deep forests. RE: Beaches for the local, why not? - Little Dragon - 25-06-2011 04:15 AM What I'm expecting most is to see my people swim, ride on the waves...My people love sea, without anything they can enjoy their life alongside the tropical beaches shadowed by coconut trees. My girls are under hawaiian bikini, my boys enjoy the Latin melodies from their guitars, my old men enjoy their big Cuban cigars How romantic & peaceful the anymation is ![]() Wondering if the dev would get such an emotion. Right now it's like nobody is enjoying the water of the ocean. |
