Bios, Directx11, Hardwares, drivers everything updated. The only game that a got problem to play(Though i'm not playng for bugs issues).

I can't speak for the Phenom, but I'd still check your BIOS settings. It's not a question of having it updated, it's a question of making sure you don't have anything that could open multiple DirectX contexts.

It's also the only game you've found -- I'm sure if you looked hard enough there would be many others.

Your best bet is to report it to Kalypso and post it here, as billyplod said.

I purchased the game on Steam today and I can not build any roads. When I select to build roads the game pauses and I am unable to actually place any roads. The interface shows no preview of a road and clicking does nothing. Also, I am unable to unpause the game from this point on and must reload a previous save. Constructing everything else works fine. I can reproduce the issue 100% in tutorial, and by creating a new profile and restarting

I have tried reinstalling. The game is unplayable in this state for me.

Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. I've made a preorder and still cant play the game.

P.S. Finally managed to register. All my 4 emails is prohibited! Why do you hate russian email hosters so much, people?

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.03 only!)
My bug comes from the XBOX 360 version. I can't tell if its the 1.03 update or not as I can't find that info in the game plus I don't remember downloading a patch. Anyway, today when I started my game at the prompt to choose a storage device I tried selecting the main internal hard drive and the game kept saying no hard drive selected and that I'll have to continue without saving. This means I also can't retrieve ANY of my saved games. I tried repeatedly with the same results. I transfered everything I had saved to an external thumb drive and that works fine. At the prompt screen it shows that I have the internal hard drive and the available space is right but when I try to select it the game doesn't recognize it at all.

I'm having the exact same problem. I issued the edict a few minutes before I clicked on the bubble to get the new mission - which happened to be issuing the Pan-Caribbean games edict. Now I'm stuck and can't continue.

I would like to report some bugs. There are a lot of them in tenements but it seems that devs won't do anything about it.

I will grow a Gandalf beard before next patch comes out Tongue

So I have found that if you build a Cruise Ship and then later on delete it, not only can you not build a new one later(max number build message), but It also still has the transport boat animation going to a ship that isn't there.

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.03 only!)
Howdy gents, recent buyer here, love the heck out of this game!!

Anyway I think I may have found a bug nobody's heard of. Mind you I only spent about 5 minutes searching so maybe it's already been addressed (here's hoping)

So I was coming up on the year 2000, island cooking along nicely, when all of a sudden, two things happened at almost the exact same time. First, a tornado hit. Second, it autosaved.

A natural disaster right before the end of my term as Presidente wiped the smile off my face pretty quick, so I decided now was time for lunch. I I quit the game right there, expecting to reload from the autosave.

So I load the game back up mid-twister, and my camera control's gone. Sort of. Mouse and Keyboard scrolling doesn't work, and neither does rotating or zooming with the middle mouse button.

I can still interact with buildings, and can even move the camera by selecting a Tropican from the almanac. But basically, no manual camera movement whatsoever. I've reloaded, rebooted, re-saved, hit every button on the keyboard, held a seance, googled it, everything I can think of, no dice.

Here's the twist though, the issue's only present on that autosave and the saves I made afterwards. My most recent previous save (1992) still works normally. So what I'm thinking is that when the game locks out your camera controls to show you the sweet tornado tearing up your island, a game save made during that "cutscene" will make the control lockout permanent. Just my guess.

Anyway I'm just going to start again from 1992, it's not a big deal, but just as a warning, make sure to do a safety save after natural disasters are over and done with.

More then 2 months have passed since i reported the bug with the roads, and still now fix and not even response. I STILL CANT PLAY THE GAME! Once i click on the road icon in the build menu, game pauses but cursor does not transform into road build mode. And i cannot unpause the game! I'm just stuck in pause mode.
I've played through tropico 3 and absolute power many-many times, and i know the basics. Its a bug!
I've preordered the game once preorder was opened and still can't play! Very disappointed!
Now i cannot complete steam sale's achievement. :-(((

I found a graphical bug with my game concerning backgrounds :/
[Image: 78Nd5.jpg]

I have tried messing with the graphics settings but the backgrounds in level selection and the preceding screens are still glitched. When i just load the level, whether what be with a custom or preset avatar, the game instantly crashes. My drivers are up to date and so is my game. Someone please help and i would be very grateful.

Windows 7 64 bit
AMD Phenom II X4 processor (3.4GHz)
4gb RAM
Directx11
ATI Radeon HD 6970

But even with lowest graphics settings the bug persists. I have restarted the game many times, and steam. I might have to re-install it.

Well, it's not just a background issue. There's a model missing.

DirectX 11 doesn't really mean much when the game uses DX9, other than it may not be playing nice ... hopefully Kalypso know more.

ERROR: can not create shader pack file: Path Not Found

You and your half-finished games. What can I do to fix this?

EDIT: WTF? You **** product demands a code that doesn't have the same number of letters as the code that came with it! It starts out with a 3 letter bit, then four four-letter segments. THE CODE THAT CAME WITH THE BOX starts out with a four-letter segment and then five five-letter segments!

I'm getting the exact same thing as AdvancedPizza which is weird because a few hours ago it was just fine.

EDIT

Got it fixed, just verify integrity of game files through Steam and let it download again.

Have same bug with road building. You don't get into road building mode when pressing road build button, game pauses and that's all.
Game gets to road build mode when pressing shift, but you can't exit that mode by any means.
So game works, but completely unplayable.

Seems to be a map error on the mission "To Bait Fish Withal". There is a lower section of the island that is good for growing sugar. I am trying to build a road to it but can't ever get it to go. It keeps telling me that there are rocks in the way.

As you can see, I'm pretty far away from those rocks. I've tried numerous different ways and it seems impossible to get a road down there.

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.03 only!)
So i was editing map, trying to create challenge and game crashed. It crashed plenty times before but this time i think it corupted my save or config files. I cannot see any maps to choose from online or local challenges, it looks like this:

I also couldn't enter single player campaign, but i loaded save, finished mission and it fixed the access.

I'm using tropico via steam, and tried to delete local files, reinstall game but it doesn't help, i still cannot access chalenge list. What can i do?

Also game crashed plenty of times when i was editing map. Basically what i was doing was creating whole map flat terrain, deleting all objects to make myself room for editing. It always crashed after painting terrain (at roughly 5-10% map painted).

What can i do to be able to access challenge list?

ps. i also forget to mention it doesn't help creating a new profile. all stays the same

---------------------------------------------------------------
fixed by deleting my challenge map from AppData\Roaming\Tropico 4\challenges
@Timo thx for the idea

It appears your game config/shader cache got corrupted during a crash. Delete those files from %appdata%\Tropico 4 but keep your saved games and player profiles.

I am running into a few bugs, one is that buildings aren't completing (seems to be random). The other is on the mission where you have to defend against a rebel attack in 2 years time... the attack never comes.

Well!
Don't know if it's a bug but my island never rich the 1500 popullation, it's always near 1350.
This lead me to a economic problem. I have 100 job post open and about 350 people above 65 years, so, not working.
I can't deal with them, and they have a great life expectancy. Hope there's a "No limit population for those who are sure about their machine handling it.". Because I can handle much more than this, or maybe a "kill all old not-working people" button.

Sad, but necessary.

Also, there's many places in all maps where buildings and roads can't be placed because a rock becomes red, but it's not even near.
AND
I found that the NPCs don't know how to use a triple road. I made one leading to port area, and the computer drives only in the extreme left and right vias, the center one, who leads direct to port road is unused, even when the other two roads are full of car, they don't move.
As seen below.

In a Sandbox game running the first map (no mods or DLC), the religious faction asked me to enact the Prohibition edict. I did (and immediately canceled - take that you sanctimonious old geezer Tongue). Now in the Almanac, under the Religious faction, it gives me a modifier for enacting the Book Burning edict (and a modifier for canceling it, too - not as dumb as you look, old man. Touche...).

There's no problem with the Intellectual faction, so I assume it's just a matter of the wrong string being sent to the Almanac (and not a case of the Prohibition edict actually being the Book Burning edict). Cosmetic, but annoying! (even more so when you consider my avatar is a Leftist Author)

I'm experiencing a strange crash when I try to use the Sequence Editor in the Challenge mode.
The sequence Editor opens, but the Tropico4.exe dissapear from the taskbar, and I can't get back to it.
It's also gone in the Task Manager Applications Panel, but I can find the process running.
I need to manually kill the process and restart every time (which makes sequence debugging very slow Wink )

I'm running the Steam version on XP + SP3 pack both on a Dell (laptop) and on an iMac (Windows partition with bootcamp)

Saw it mentionned in an old thread, but I didn't find an answer.

I just downloaded the full game off of Steam after running the demo version fine, and the full version refuses to run at all. If I try to start the game, it pops up with the error message: "AppData.dll not found or unsigned." As AppData does, in fact, exist in the Tropico 4 folder, how do I get it de-unsigned, or whatever it needs to do to run?

EDIT: Error fixed through updating Windows software. Sorry for the bother. Enjoying the game so far...!

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.03 only!)
Second campaign mission ("It's All Mine")

I got the "Prospector" event, gave Keith $10000 and found 3 new sources of minerals. One of them is just a little way away from my city, great!

But when I build on the new minerals, the mine produces nothing! When I looked, I found there's no bauxite there, despite the overlay:

0 Resource Quantity!

I actually tried this twice, so that I could get a screenshot. The first time I got gold in that spot, and it had exactly the same problem.

This was with 1.03 all the way (installed the patch before I even started up the game the first time) and with no DLC or other add-ons.
Also... Could construction office PLEASE be a little more intelligent about where they send their workers? I have an island with 3 different "cities", and I constantly see the construction office on the south side sending builders to build an apartment in the very north end of the island, while the construction office in the north city sends builders to build a church in the south city. Both have been pending construction for a while, and both are normal priority. I don't understand what order the construction offices use for building different projects, but please add a distance weighting.

Personally, I'd be fine with "construction offices work on the closest project to themselves, all priorities being equal", but I don't know if there are other weights you wanted in there.

Sad RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.03 only!)
Also, game crashed on me -- black screen, music kept playing for a little while. Sad Oddly enough, after hitting the Windows key, it was obvious that the computer had task-switched out of Tropico, but the monitor remained blank. Had to press the power button to get the computer to shut down (but it wasn't a hard shutdown, so it didn't give me an error report) .

Happened on this computer a couple of times.

I believe I have the latest video drivers & Windows updates.

I think the graphics were on high or medium - don't remember. Definitely not low.

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.03 only!)
I am sorry if this has been addressed already but I couldn't find it anywhere and it's a weird glitch.

I absolutly love the game and until now it has been running fantastically with no problems whatsoever. I even downloaded and installed Plantador DLC and again, no problems at all. I am very near the end of the scenario where the USSR and US are building missiles against each other and you can't let DEFCON get to 1. Sorry, I do not remember the name. I have a thriving economy and aroung 680 well fed people. I think it was in the 1980's.

I was stalling hoping I didn't have to do the missle test so decided to build some more coffee planatations. I already had 4. I went to place the plantation and that's when it started. I had it on my cursor, but it just wouldn't place. It also erased any trees I tried to place it over. So when I right clicked to get ris of it, instead of clearing my cursor, it brought up another build menu. It would do this anytime I right clicked so I had like 5 up. So I went to lift click on buildings to place random buildings until I could get past the glitch and every single on in every single menu said "Penultimo lost the plans for this building" and wouldn't let me build anything.

I have restarted the game, the computer and even loaded an earlier version of the game BEFORE the glitch, same thing happens. Worse yet, I played through it with a build menu I could not get rid of in front of me using the tiny sides to see to win the scenario. Thank goodness I was not required to build anything more! When I started the next scenario, SAME THING happened. Please help, I really love this game and would like to continue with it.

Although I think its a game glitch, I am running windows vista, 4 GB RAM, Direct X latest version, all drivers updated, and no mods installed.
