In a interview about Tropico 4 modern times I saw words in the corner saying automobile commodity prices are 20% higher.
Yea I saw that too, however it may mean that you can only import cars, like Luxury Goods. I.e. when you import automobiles the cars on your island slowly upgrade. I also remember reading somewhere about an electronics factory.

RE: Tropico 4 Modern Times 30 Buildings.
I'd love to see the space shuttle launcher have some options:
1) Space Shuttle - Produces Small Revenue + halves upkeep (reusable after all)
2) Unmanned Rockets - Produces Big Revenue (ie, delta rockets for commercial launches)
3) Lunar - Triples upkeep, no revenue, but increases tourism, world faction and island faction (Saturn V type of rocket)
Then of course the graphic is according to which option you've chosen.
- Industrial slaughter houses and industrial farms (think of plantation-like food farms and ranches)
- Twinkie Factory (high-school educated industry that produces food, requires sugar as raw material)
- Warehouse (allows the ability to stop some, say 50%, or all export of selected items, for release later, up to the capacity of that building - maybe 10,000 units)
- Uranium Mines - or maybe mines can get a uranium processor addon that will grant a small amount for your power plant and export
- Brothels (cuz I'm a perv and it's good money - religious will hate it though!
)
- Distillery - similar to the Rum plant, but produces whiskey from corn. You can select how many years it ages - longer it ages, the longer it takes to produce the first batch, but the higher the value, ranging from "blended" which is cheap and available immediately, 3yr, 5yr, 10yr, 15yr.
I'd also really like to see an Equal Rights edict that removes gender requirements for all jobs - although that's not a building idea.

RE: Tropico 4 Modern Times 30 Buildings.
I, for one, have no time, and I'm not a programmer either. That said, it's not like Haemimont (the Tropico devs) have unlimited time either. I've made the point in other threads: yes, some of the ideas are great, some are simple enough to actually have a shot at being done (though I'm sure the metro-link/subway was in Kalypso's back pocket this whole time), but for the most part the investment of time would require vast rewrites and higher costs users don't want to pay. If people got together to actually get things done on the game's engine (i.e. modded it, or at least tweaked it), then maybe we'd get the content people want, without others complaining about not wanting it for X or Y or Z.
Anyway, the point I was making was neither here nor there, other than to say that I've not seen a full second expansion on a small-ish publisher's title in a while. (This isn't to say I'm not hoping for it, but if the community displays some active interest in having more content, then maybe we'll get it.)

I never implied that Haemimont should incorporate everyones ideas. Obviously that's not workable on any level. However, I bet having the ability to draw from a pool of user ideas actually reduces development time - because it frees the devs from having to come up with a bunch of fresh ideas on their own.

Once a game catches on, it's in the company's interest to keep on pumping out new expansions, regardless of their size.
I think Stardock would be a good example of this.

You will still have to use roads if you are transporting goods, Afterall, it would be a hassle to cart 100 units of gold on a metro train.
And I guess the business center is like a factory for bankers to work there who makes a sizable income
The aerodome I presume to have jets doing airshows which can be used to impress foreigners or tropican respect and provides entertainment but will require upkeep.
The Electronics Factory I see converting bauxite to electronics.

I guess Condos should be added to the list. I think there is a new monument-type structure It's in one of the screen shots and at about 44 secs in the new trailer, has a flame on top.
There is also the Burj Khalifa-Willis Tower love child skyscrapper, but a better name for it is needed
