Common problems
Q: I can save, but when I restart the game my saves are gone.
A: Create a folder called Save in your DisciplesIII folder.

Q: When I try to build the camera goes into the enemy capital. I can't build or hire units.
A: Several ways to fix this problem exist.
  1. Save the game and reload. You can now access your capital.
  2. Leave a leader at your capital. Use him to enter the capital. You should be able to build and hire units.

Q: Sometimes the game gets stuck when I use Quick Combat. How do I stop it?
A: This is fixed in patch 1.6.2, but there a workaround in patch 1.6.0. Click on the Main Menu button (the one with Save/Load game etc) and Quick Combat will end.

FAQ

Q: How do I increase leadership?
A: Open the skill grid of your hero (see manual for details). On this grid you'll find four points of leadership, spread across the grid. Investing a point will grant you one point of leadership, so an additional four leadership is possible. There is also a rare orb in the game, which will increase leadership by one.

Q: How do I capture resources?
A: "You terrain grows depending on the number of towns and nodes you're controlling. To set up a node, just select your hero and use it to "touch" an empty node; which looks like a hole in the ground with lights shining out. Sometimes, nodes may be occupied by enemy guardians, so you'll have to kill it first before raising your own guardian in the spot." By Merchant of Tartarus.

Q: How does damage or healing work?
A: Damage or healing is equal to Attack Power, but magical damage is reduced by resistances and physical strikes by armor. A critting physical strike ignores armor.

Q: How do my units gain Attack Power?
A:
Healers heal 1.5 Health for each point of Intellect they have.
Mages gain 3 points of Attack Power for each point of Intellect, except those who deal damage to all units, which gain 2.5 per point.
Melee gains 4 points of Attack Power for each point of Strength.
Archers and Thieves gain 2 points of Attack Power for each point of Strength, except for Gargoyles, who gain 3 points.
Archers gain 1 point of Attack Power for each point of Dexterity, except Gargoyles, who gain 2 points.
Legion melee (Possessed, Berserker, Anti-Paladin, Infernal Knight) and Thieves gain 2 points of Attack Power for each point of Dexterity.

Q: How does Agility and Dexterity work?
A: Agility reduces the chance that a unit is hit and Dexterity increases the chance to hit for the unit. If a unit has 100% chance to hit, any remaining Dexterity will be converted into critical hit chance. A critical hit does double damage and ignores armor.

Q: Can I trade items and units between leaders?
A: Yes, see manual for details.

Q: How do I garrison a node?
A: You trade units to it, similar how you would trade units between leaders.

Q: Is Death or Rune Mana useful in any way?
A: Currently no. They will have a use in future expansions.

Q: Can I import leaders, like in previous Disciples games?
A: No, but you can rehire the leader in next map. You can view leaders from previous maps as if you were to buy a new leader, but select "Veteran" instead of "Leader".

Q: My Cultist's Eagle Eye canceled my Berserker's Rage, is this a bug?
A: No, you can only have one buff from each category. Click here to see detailed description.
