Queue up and kill?
Hi all. I'm still working through my first campaign as a Lucii, and I'd gotten to Julius Caesar's "Over the Rhine" scenario, when a very strange thing occurred -- not sure if it's a bug or not, so I'll describe it.

As you probably know, you must cross the Rhine and subjugate two barbarian camps. Not being as skillful with the military niceties, I've started using the "blunt instrument" of two or three Secutores squads along with my drafted Hastati to handle this sort of thing.

The boys quickly dispatched the first camp with little or no losses (OW! That %#^$ Bow Maiden stuck a pin in my arm! Now I'm really mad!). A brief rest in camp to do their nails and hair, and sharpen their teeth, and it's on to camp two, where it's "same rout, different day."

That's when something strange happened. After massacring the front lines, the boys excitedly stormed the camp, where there were a few greatly diminished and demoralized barbarian units. All of a sudden, my boys politely lined up in front of each enemy unit and proceeded to sword fight, a single Secutore to a single barbarian, while everyone else just stood by and watched!

Needless to say, this was taking a long time to resolve! The problem was that as all this courteous slaughter was working its way along, several squads of fresh barbarian would arrive. I then had to pull all my guys out of the camp, throw up a 1000 denarii MASH unit, and deal with the fresh threat.

That done, I'd send my crew back into the camp, where the strange queued up process would recommence!

I finally got bored with this, restarted the scenario, and this time specifically held back at the second camp until all of their units came out to play. That worked.

Anyway, is this a bug, or is this how things work? If the latter, then it's passing strange!

Thanks -- Sandlapper
