Krasimir Gatev from Haemimont Games here.

I want to thank you all for your feedback and let you know that we are keeping track of your comments and working hard to fix the issues that appear.

We have already fixed the problems involving the Xbox controller, the stone archways which block road placement, buildings lacking water and others. These fixes will be included in a patch.

Bug: restarting a map in the campaign stops any and all immigration. No one will come to your island unless you recruit them by paying cash.

Hooray! I JUST encountered this. Is there a time frame on the patch, or is it one of those "when it's ready" things?

My game crashes to desktop when uploading to Facebook. It hangs when capturing a screenshot, then crashes to desktop. I have been able to successfully upload a post to facebook once out of 10 tries.

These have already been addressed but I'm restating them just in case they were looked over.

Custom Offices leave behind a driveway and won't allow me to place another.

When generating a map, decorative plants and barrels get thrown into the forests as well. They are deletable, however some of the barrels are permenant, but only serve as a cosmetic annoyance.

My presidente stats went 0 after 8th mission (first mission where I used save game on middle of a campaign map). I still have points, but my fame & swiss went to 0.

I have noticed a "rare" issue: When I construct a building, the terrain come in blocks (like normally) but when the construction finishes it goes dirty.

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.0 only!)
One major bug:

After playing the second level of the campaign for quite awhile, the dockworkers are getting stuck attempting to load exports onto the ships. You literally see them running in place with their wheelbarrows. This is affecting my ability to beat the level, as no exports actually get onto the ships and I get no money...

I tried firing all of the current workers and even tried replacing my dock with a new one. Unfortunately, neither option fixes the problem for me.

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.0 only!)
The pathfinding with respect to roads and garages (and construction offices) is reminiscent of wall-humping retard hostages in counterstrike. I thought by 2011 we would be past this.

Mines keep falling down after being built, moving the mine doesn't help.

Road and population limits completely defeat the purpose of the new huge maps. I'm really surprised about this one.

Inb4 "simple disagreements with the decisions of the developers will be ignored." Sorry, but we're just too far into the 21st century for crippling pathfinding issues to be called anything but BUGS.

I'm gonna wrap up my whining with a big thank you for a great addition to a great series. Been playing since the first one and this has become one of those "pester-every-single-one-of-your-friends-to-try-because-you-want-everyone-to-feel-the-joy-you-have felt" kinda games. You know what I mean. Thanks for addressing the rock arch/road thing too.

This is a VERY annoying cosmetic issue. Not a problem in the demo, but making my cities look pretty in the real game is hard because of this.

With my current wages, I don't even have a job that says 52 job quality, there are some that are 53 but most are >70.

Another annoying bug, having lots of teamsters, as you can see, but still, almost every time the factories won't produce anything (wheelbarrow sign on 4 out of 6 factories) because some tropicans won't do their job.

Please remove the population limit (~1200) in the upcoming patch, it just makes playing on larger maps for longer periods not as interesting Sad

If you are worried about over-population problems for newbie players, at least increase the limit to 2000 or 3000, or put a switch in the new game options to toggle on/off the population limit. We'll all be very thankful!

Yep, I noticed those things too Vaterix. Also, Tropicans spend an inordinate amount of time at religion and healthcare buildings, such that it takes way too many of those buildings to provide for their needs. For 900 people I was at like 10 cathedrals and hospitals to get 70%+ satisfaction, which was pretty ridiculous.

This is a known bug that showed up in the demo. It can happen with pretty much any edict that you pass & then cancel & that affects a faction. Conscription can do the same thing to the Militarist faction for example.

I know they know about it since Lyuba said something about it in another thread. I'm sure (I hope!) this one will be fixed in the first patch.

Thanks for the update Krasimir, great to hear you guys are listening and on top of these issues.

Any chance that these fixes will be in place for the Canadian retail release (Sept. 6/11 - Tuesday) or will they come in a patch later on?

This has already been fixed. AFAIK (I'm on a vacation right now, so I can't check) versions of the game that got released later (like the Steam version) have this already fixed in them. Anyway, it will be fixed in the first patch (again I can't give you an ETA because I'm away from the office).

Yesh, I think I had at least 15 cathedrals for ~1200 people besides churches. It was also interesting to note I reached the road limit as well, when I reached max population, which in my case was 1242.

Another interesting observation is that, after that the population decreased slightly during the following years, which is normal because I had tropico first on immigration and no obstetrics, the unemployed number of people kept rising. In a few years it had gotten to 180 from ~40, despite the fact that a) all my buildings were showing as full of staff b) I haven't destroyed any of the buildings, because I was basically placing gardens/trees around the island, not much you can you upon reaching the road and pop limit, even if half of the island was still there to be occupied c) I built at least 10 ranches and garages to decrease the unemployment number, but it kept going up.

To sum it up: half a day's play got me to the maximum of this game in terms of population and roads in sandbox mode. All Quality numbers were >80 except for the job quality. My lowest job quality was 60 and the almanac still showed 53. For a manage/business strategy, half a day is nothing, it should be going on for days, so please remove the limitations, as much as possible. Otherwise, great 5 days of playing 20 missions and sandbox Smile.

P.S. "Hello" to the company's hardcore testers that did not notice such obvious bugs as mentioned in this topic. It appears as if though they hadn't played it at all, the way it's meant to be played ©. No offence intended, just my 2 cents.

The game often crashes for me if I alt-tab to Windows and back. Is anyone else having this issue? This is with the Steam edition and W7 x64.

edit: To be more specific, the music keeps playing and I can see and move the cursor but other than that the screen goes black. Sometimes I am able to bring it back by alt-tabing a couple more times, other times it quits to desktop.

Related to this, if you build something else with a paved base (like a statue) nearby then it updates the nearest block of the building base to paved as well (you can delete the statue afterwards).

I don't think I'm going to bother with sandbox mode until the /facepalm-worthy limits are gone.

Also, I'm starting to hate religion in this game as much as I hate it irl. An island with a thousand people does NOT need a dozen massive cathedrals. I wish I could just outlaw the faction and never build a single church. Viva Atheistropico!

I'm also obviously getting the paving cosmetic bug, but I would really like to see those limits gone asap.

RE: Tropico 4 - Bug Reports Thread (Version 1.0 only!)
Not sure if this was addressed yet, but this bug is in the Absolute Power expansion from Tropico 3 as well. Grade schools have this weird bug where the pathfinding or something must be messed up enough to have kids indefinitely walking into the building, but never passing "in", or "out". They'll constantly walk in place there until you destroy the building.

The strange thing is teachers will still move freely inside, but it seems to happen randomly, I usually have two or three grade schools and every once in a while this will happen. The kids will also not die, or age into an adult model. so it's very possible to have a girl or boy aged well over 80 or so years. Of course the minute you destroy the building and they're free, they'll die instantly.

Since the bug is also in Tropico 4, this screenshot is from Tropico 3 to give you basic idea: [Image: 73892BA95CA909C5762CBBADBF4CA62897E5AE8B]

Other than that, things like the tiles from buildings not appearing was mentioned as well.. I also wasn't aware there was a population limit, or road limit until I was reading this thread. I haven't had the chance to reach such a limit, regardless I hope it gets removed, or extended.
