importing music from Trop 1 and 2?
I love the game and the soundtrack, but...the music gets a bit repetitive after about 100 hours of play. I got the special edition, with Trop1, Trop2 also on the disc. My question is, is it possible to import the music from T1 and T2 into T3?
And if it is possible, where do I find it and how do I do it?
muchas gracias, compadres.

Agreed.

I do wish the game would allow us to insert music or even replace it.

Sad

Unfortunately, this is something the current game engine does not allow for. We don't own the license for the original Tropico music, so we can't add it to Tropico 3. Listening to your own music while playing can be easily achieved by having a media player run in the background, though (this is even possible with the Xbox 360 version).

RE: importing music from Trop 1 and 2?
Has anyone managed to retrieve the Tropico 1 soundtrack from the disc? I remember trying this a few years back - I could only get the files in .mp2 format, which I could not play...

EDIT: After a bit of searching, I found that Winamp can play .mp2 files no problem, but not the ones from Tropico 1...oh well Sad

EDIT AGAIN: Apparently the Tropico 1 + Paradise Island Music was produced by "Daniel Indart" and you can get it here: http://www.lmsrecords.com/LMSHowTo.htm It's also available on Spotify and LastFM http://www.last.fm/music/The+Daniel+Indart+Project

Thanks for your replies! I was about to say it's a pity, then I saw Winston's message. I'll check that out. My salsa collection is (very) limited - 2 cds by the Fania All-Stars, so I'd started using my reggae collection (all pre-1980) as a backup. My avatar has the reddest eyes in the Caribbean! It'll be good to try something new.
By the way, Timo, (no offence or insult intended) did you know that your nick means "fraud" in Spanish?Wink

Interesting. That's something I haven't come across before.

I wasn't able to download the utility from the direct link, but going to http://www.cmoo.com/snor/weeds/Tropico/ and clicking the "tropico_music_ripper.zip" link seems to work.
