I know it must be the most silly question heard in this forum, but I can't find where can I buy cannons for my first anti-pirate ship

Some help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You don't buy them - they come free with a ship upgrade. (Rather like a Supermarket deal)
In a port with your ship or convoy - go to the Shipyard
Select the Upgrade TAB and you will see that the upgrade will add cannons and lose cargo space, there is a Level 1 and a Level 2 expansion.

Don't forget to hire the crew to man the cannons - you get these at the Tavern.

It didn't work! I upgraded my crayer up to level 2, my cargo space is reduced from 300 to 170...but no cannons were added!

Can it be a bug?

Humm !!

You should start with a ship 0 cannons - see pic using COG as an example - first upgrade give 12 Cannons - second gives 20 Cannons. Do you get this?

Then you should see the COG with 20 Cannons and no further upgrades possible.

Are you running v1.3 of the Game with all the other patches applied
Look in Game Directory for 3 files
PATCH0.FUK
PATCH1.FUK
PATCH2.FUK

If you are running addon RoaD (Rise of a Dynsaty) then patch level should be 2.0.4

The Launcher displays the patch level in the bottom right hand corner

Ok. Step by step.

Firstly, I confirm I'm playing RoaD with patch 2.0.4.

Secondly, this is what I have right now:



As you can see, I got both upgrade levels and no cannons at all Furthermore, I can recruit up to 70 sailors without cannons

Now I remembre that I didn't upgrade the ship in my home city but in another city in which I have an office. Is it important?

you have to enable the ship as a escort ship
the cannon ammount only counts cannons on those ships

And how can I do that? Can crayers be scort ships?

select a ship in the ship-menu
and enable the escortbutton

Great! I got it. Thank you very much. Just a final question. Can pirates be boarded as in P3? I know you can kill their crew, break their sails and sink them selecting the appropriate ammo. But can you board them just contacting them as in P3?

just by contact .. no
sink 2 ships for the last ship reduce crew to 0 and healtch to ~20%
