Hello Guys, here are some thoughts of tropico 4 after I did finish well 18 missions of Troipco 4 :-)

The GOOD part of Tropico 4:

1. The game graphic which you are so concern is I can say Great but only in one part of the lightning. Once the weather comes to a sunset or sunrise or raining the Graphic looks like T3. but in the middle of the day is Great. The blur level is excellent. The colors and everything is awesome.
2. The new islands are excellent!, very colorful full of life. The new trees and nature are awesome, all the terrain is a lot better.
3. The upgrade of the housing quality on the apartments and tenements is a great Idea.
4. The story is kind of cool.
5. The storage of the products is visualized which is great.
6. The Reforestation building is nice addition.
7. The new buildings come in handy. Very cool.
9. The Characters personalities are making the game even more alive.
10. The Performance of the game is better than T3
11. Additional Cargo Ports and tourist docks.
12. The new trade system is very good.
13. Interactive Disasters. My Personal Favorite is the Hot Weather.
14. The Soundtrack is great.
15. More voices on the radio station
16. The Police Station is improved as well as the Military Defense System.
17. The girls in the game are very handsome.
18. Once you build the building for the fishing. there are birds flying over it. All thoose small Details are making the game full of life.

The SO SO part and the recomendations:

1. The swiss bank account still doens't have a real use.(construct a luxury mansion, buy a yacht , buy an airplane,Luxury residential Resort Like Casa de Campo or Capcana in the Dominican Republic or anything else for which the money can be used.)
2. Suggested construction buliding is always Tenement or Apartment building.
3. The Reforestation Building is planting only one type of trees instead of all types of the normal trees.
4. There are no new mesh upgrades of the buildings from T3. Only the textures.
5. No new gardens / edicts / miscellaneous objects
6.The Luxury liner is staying like a statue instead of making Caribbean trips.
7. Inside the Consul of ministers after you hire the ministers there is not much more that can be done there.
8. More Variations of the Apartment buildings should be added like the Tenements have high and small.
9. In Tropico 3 I liked the map of all of the islands where you can see all of them at once and see what are the passed missions.
10. Instead of creating 20 missions it was to be better 15 missions but every one of them to be on a individual island.
11. You can make a lot more money from industry than Tourism.

Overall score 9.5/10 - Amazing ! (Best Strategy Game of the Year)

Final Words. Everybody that likes Tropico 3 will Love Tropico 4...Awesome Game. I can't stop playing it...

I'm guessing that after I play it (I cant get it til September 1st ) that my review will probably look something like yours. Tropico 3 was one of my all time favorite games so if its more or less the same as Tropico 3 I'm sure I'll love it!

It is Better :-) That I can say for sure...

1. What are all the natural disasters? How does the heat wave work?
2. Defense better? How so?

all the disasters, are hurricane, tsunami, tornadoes, earthquake. The Heat wave is just some hot period of time when the island looks like burning :-) an you have to water the farm fields in case to save the production.

The Defense is better in case if you have a one military base, minister of the defense, and the unnecessary generals the Rebels have 0 chance of success

the people I don't know. But it is very bad situation once the Rebels blow your palace :-)

Great review and overall good points. I especially like your idea of having things for us to spend the Swiss Bank Account money on. It doesn't even have to be that hard to program. Even just one screen that shows the new items as you buy them.

Right now I even don' bother to build a bank to slash funds because I see it useless. And all the money are going in the treasury instead of Swiss bank account since there they are like lost money forever.

Agreed! This is still such a lacking area of gameplay and considering it is supposed to be one of your primary motivations as dictator, the devs would do well to build on it and encourage us to make use of it. Presidential perks like the ideas above would be a great start.

swiss bank has always just been a function to either

A- meet a campain objective,

B- increase score..


Im not saying that there shouldnt be something else added, But what im not sure..

As basically it was all about stashing money away for retirement for when the game is over.. and ala T1, a way to get a good review in the closing act animation when talking about your island..

You ceratinly put enough away to live in luxuory for the rest of your life!.. that was really the only use of the swiss bank option.. to here that one phrase.. (what the exact phrase is i forget, as i rarely ever make it happen )
