500% gross, yes. Booze baron + distillery is 1000%; 400% and 900% net. You obviously don't know enough about the game to be commenting it seems.
You know what 1000% means, right? It means 10x. It means that if you spend 1050 for sugar, you'd have to sell it at 10500. You don't. You sell it at 3900 (spiced), or 7800 (with booze baron). So that's about 7.5x. But wait, you haven't paid your employees (the rum factory holds more employees than the others, as I'm sure you know). Plus, there's upkeep - not cheap. And you had to buy the factory itself (18000), and pay 15000 for the spiced rum upgrade, plus put all the workers through high school... basically, you're not getting anywhere near 1000%, or even the 900% you're talking about.
Careful about slinging the mud around - nobody was turning this personal until your little jab, buddy.
You called me a liar and I called your bluff. customs = 20% bonus on exports, entrepreneur is another 10%, and ad campaign is another 20-30%, I forget which.
Ready to eat some crow?

Nobody called you a liar. Read the posts again. And grow up.
So now you're using a maxed out entrepreneur/booze baron, and you've got every single possible bonus tuned on... you put every advantage on your side, and you're surprised you're making a huge profit? What did you expect - that you'd barely squeak by? That's all my original comment was - it's not broken. It works as intended.
The devs probably didn't intend that you'd nuke your own island, basically make your citizens work as slaves, and go deep in the red just to set up your super money-making machine at the beginning of a game. I'll admit it, they probably didn't plan for that contingency. Probably because anyone doing that would be ruining their own play experience, so why bother?
Bottom line - if you try hard enough, it's possible to "break" almost any game, or find exploits. But why would you want to?
