RE: Hidden buildings
I have built the cement factory a few times and I have doubts that it does anything at all beyond wasting workers.

I've noticed that there are values for Production, but Export dollars stays at "$0". There is a Total Production for Lifetime, and that differs from the Year-to-date Production value, so the output is going someplace. I'm assuming that it gets used in domestic construction around the island. (Speeding up construction?)

I see the same thing but I don't notice a difference. I'm think I am better offer with two construction sites.

When I place the cement factory it seems to me like my construction workers build things a little faster. I havent actually tested the build times pre & post cement factory though so it could just be a placebo effect in my mind. Wink

^ From the game files.

More interesting are the DLC decorations:
DLC #1: "A set of decorations for military-minded dictators." (tied to the guard station, apparently)
DLC #2: "A set of decorations for prosperous plantation owners." (has windmill in the model name?)
DLC #3: "A set of decorations for ambitious constructors." ("constructionthemed" is the model)

Image of the build icons (1/2/3) as they are (yes #2 has a weird background colour):

RE: Hidden buildings
All of these are currently unfinished placeholder buildings which slipped into the Steam release of the game by accident and will be removed until they can be added in a more meaningful way and within a fitting context.

With this slip-up, here's hoping these are included in the forthcoming patch rather than paid DLC/expansion.

When he said they were only available in the Steam version I thought maybe it was to reward us for having to wait 2 extra days for the Steam version to come out. Wink

I don't have the Steam version and I have access to them ...

RE: Hidden buildings
Hey Everyone, Col. Stark here, long time reader of the forums but never got around to becoming a member untill now.

I thought I should comment because Tropico 4 advertises 20 new buildings however one of the buildings in the '20 New Buildings' thread lists the plantation, which isn't officially usable. so infact we only actually get 19. This should probably get changed on the games descriptions, or we should at least get one of the 3 hidden buildings for free in a patch.
Obviously 3 free buildings would be very much welcomed, then it could be changed to 22 new buildings!

The list you're referring to is missing the Colonial Fort, which is among the 20 new buildings.

RE: Hidden buildings
Hopefully DLC pricing is reasonable. I would not want to see Tropico going Civilization V way, releasing the game 1 piece at a time with 3.99-5.99 / each. It is a complete ripoff and most important reason why I stopped playing the game. If u would want to get the "whole game" at regular pricing, it would be like 100e at this point. Luckily, there are multiple sale events / year, but still, that is not the way you want to maintain a community. I would be more than happy to pay a few euros for good content, but not like Civ5 where you get 1 civilization and maybe 1 map :-(

Wouldn't that be Civilization IV that you are referring to? I'm not aware of any DLC for Civ5 as of yet.

Yea Timo said that in the patch they were going to get rid of them. Apparently it was a bug & they were accidentally left in the game. The patch fixed that bug I'm sure. (Although I dont think I saw anything in the changelog about it.)
