Seeing how you have patched the game to 1.3 with this update, does that mean that Steam is not properly updating the game? (I signed off and on to try and prompt an update--no change.)

The only other explanation I can think of is that the dev did not change the version sig on the loading screen. Is there an easy in-game means of testing whether I am running the update (or a file location that will indicate a change has occurred)?

Thank you! Big Grin

I checked this morning - it's patched on Steam. Smile

Is the patch still not available for retail? My launcher just shows the changelog of 1.03 but does not download anything. Sad

Did you purchase a digital download version? If so, from which website did you get your copy? Direct2Drive, Impulse, GreenmanGaming and a few others need to prepare the update for integration with their client which may take a couple of days. Please contact their tech support for more information on the progress.

If you're using a boxed retail copy, make sure your internet connection isn't firewalled or otherwise blocked from communicating with our update servers.

Wouldn't it be easier to make patch avaible for download in .rar or .7zip archive? Or anything similiar?

ROFL, devs have solved that "arch of rocks-blocking-road construction" issue on one of the available maps by just removing rock over the path. Kinda straightforward solution. Smile
Too bad shadows still disappear during storms and nights (?). I thought it's a bug but it wasn't fixed so now I think it's a feature, but I still think it's not a good one. In Tropico 3 those shadows had never disappeared.

Yes i did. Got it from a local media supplier in Sweden called CDOn. They are using something called Ztorm Installpackage "Zit". Not sure what system they use tbh or if it is something of their own?

I saw a post about something along these lines, but this phrase is kind of confusing. does this mean like when you cancel free housing edict, the faction drops to zero, and never raises? If soo, cool Wink

More like it sounds like if for example you had same-sex marriage edict on and religious were unhappy, if you disabled it, it would raise their happiness and also prevent their happiness from dropping to 0. At least thats how I understand it.

Hi, i have purchased digital copy from ShopTo.net, and this is their response regarding patch :

"Hi Ivan,

Unfortunately we do not have any currently information on this, if made available through us it will appear in the extras section of your download. We advise you check the games website or contact the publisher.

Regards,
Andy"

Is there any other way to download the patch??? please help :-(

How is it same as Tropico 3. Tropico 3 has much less stuff, lacks a storyline, the UI is more dull not to mention that in some islands you have too little space and it feels all crumbled.

Is it just my imagination or does the actual listed increase in Export prices from the Customs office never above 10%? No matter if i have 1 new guy there or 5 guys for many years, the percentage always displays as 10%.

And does anyone else also thinks the Export guys look a lot like Charlie Sheen?

RE: Tropico 4 - Update 1.03 - Changelog
I have purchased the retail version, installed it, put in the product key, was directed to sign up, which I did and clicked on the link that activated the game. Then the update 1.03 ran and now it's asking for another code, NOT the product code - which I don't have. This code inserts a hyphen after the first 3 digits, then hyphens after each of four 4 digit blocks, finishing with another 4 digit block.
If I click on 'later' button or 'play Tropico 4' I get a 'critical error' message: "failed to initialize video mode"

Obviously I must need a code for the update - does anyone know where I get this from - I have contact the support email but have heard nothing from them.
Thanks
p.s. I am NOT computer literate!

It shouldn't ask you for another code. Are you trying to enter a promotional code? Those are optional and reserved for promotional purposes. Please also post your system configuration (refer to the customer support section in your game manual on how to create a DxDiag report file) and send it to support@kalypsomedia.com - the error message you're getting seems to hint at your machine not meeting the hardware requirements of the game or a faulty graphics driver installation.

it doesn't say it's a promotional code after the start screen, I get the email and password screen and press continue - then I have 'enter code' or 'play Tropico' and it comes up with the critical error message.

I have done the dxdiag report file and sent it to support@kalypso... do you know how long it usually takes for them to respond? I have already sent them one message about 4 hours ago - was really looking forward to playing this game Sad
Thanks

You should get a response and a ticket assignment immediately and then a repy within 12 hours typically. If you don't mind, you can always use the bug reporting thread and post your DxDiag text report in code tags so forumgoers can have a look and report back with their findings as well.

Purchased a retail copy and installed 9/12, but I've yet to be prompted to download and install the 1.03 patch. The credits say I'm running version 1.00.259. Have I missed something?

Thanks in advance.

It should be doing a check in the launcher. You need to sign into it (whilst online) to get the patch request. It'll list the change log / notes and give you the option to update.
