use car or go by foot? formula!
hello dear kind Sir Madam,
maybe you can help me to identify the true formula why some tropicans use cars and other go by foot.
there are some things i watched so far
1.
When a tropican uses a Garage, he uses only the one which is nearest (straight-line distance) to his Start (Buildung), and is connected to a street
2.
He leaves the car on the point of a street which is nearest to the Midst of his Destination ( Building ).
--- No mater how far away the point of the street is
--- If you have a Garage1 only one Field nearer to a Start than an other Garage2, but the street from Garage1 is in the opposite direction than the destination, then the tropicin will go to Garage1, drive out, will directly leave the car and go all the way to his destination.
------ It follows, that for the Formula of Foot or Car choosing, the distances will be computed as straight-line distance.
3.
When the tropican leaves the car, the empty car will drive to the nearest (straigth-line distance) Garage. These empty cars disapear in thin air if they stay to long in traffic jam.
4.
By foot a tropican can walk 10 Fields per 70 seconds.
By car a tropican can drive 10 Fields per 3.5 seconds.
A car is 20times faster than a walker.
5.
There is a minimum distance for car using, maybe 5 fields. If the Destination is 4 fields behind the nearest garage, a tropican will rather walk than drive.
6.
A formula could be:
Use car if:
Distance ( Start to Garage) + Distance (Garage to Destination)/20 + 5 < Distance ( Start to Destination)
[ Maybe the System uses for Distance (Garage to Destination): Distance (Garage to the Streetpoint nearest to the Midst of Destination) rather than Distance (Garage to Midst of Destination) ]
