possible entertainment bug? Anyone wanna help test?
Ok.. checking entertainment sence the unemployed using restrants.

For one, Im not sure if this is just this patch, or t4 in general, I can no longer give out free entertainment.. lowest it will go is one dollar. being able to give free entertainment has been a el presidente' tropican right sence t1.. Sad Can we get this back to zero?

But, that said, I had social security active, and homeless werent using pubs for entertainment, but were complaining about not having any. I had a pub set to 1 dollar, and the lowest sallery on the island was 6 dollars. that should be less than 1 1/3 and they should beable to use the building, but none were. I havent checked any other buildings yet.

But im currious if they are just not using every building, or just a few. Ill check more as i go on

If I get a gifted copy of T4(D2D or DVD), I wouldnt mind checking for bugs in my spare time.

I think what happened was that with Social Security, pre-patch, unemployed Tropicans would get the same amount of money as Students and the elderly, so they could afford entertainment and whatever.

Post-patch, unemployed get nothing, unless they become students or elderly. Because they have absolutely no money, they can't go/live anywhere that costs money. Of course, they can still go to church and clinics, and clog those places up.

I sort of like that the unemployed get nothing -- it keeps them from clogging up venues. Although, it would be nice to have some sort of soup kitchen building or something to get them out of the streets and shacks.

Free housing edict?
Saw this option in T3Gold but havnt tried it as it seemed to me to be a profit kill-joy. That still in T4?
Alternately designating some bunkhouses(near food supplier ,clinic[1 doctor] and church[1 or 2 priests] but far from normal workplaces use to work in T3.

I didn't look prepatch, but I do know my homeless were at the pub Wink

With 1.03 installed it only applies to retirees and students, as Wariat said. Before it wasn't meant to apply to anything else.

A larger form of social security ("The Dole") would be a pretty interesting feature, as I must admit I liked that bug too.

When I used the free housing edict once on a mission that I had to do it for 3 years, i kinda laughed in who lived where on the 3rd year, kinda found it entertaining too when in one of the villa's was an unemployed guy. Have to love Tropico.

Just as a reminder --
This was a subject of discussion on the T3 board.

One could call it a difference of opinion of about the definition of "Social Security." In America, it is a limited program which does not include the Unemployed. In Europe (and GB), it is a broad social welfare program.

I speculate that the change has nothing to do with a "bug" or a hemispheric choice of politics. It's probably just a play-balance thing about making the Unemployed not so easy to deal with.

It just lined it up with the description. I don't recall homeless being listed, they were just getting paid.

( Though my old homeless people still get paid Tongue )
