Edict cost
Anyone else notice that the edict cost displayed in the almanac and the one displayed in the edict menu don't agree?

Edict active:
Food for the people (no cost to maintain)
Social Security (1012 per month)
Literacy program (2875 per year)
Sensitivity training (750 per year)
Same Sex Marriages (No cost to maintain)
Anti-litter ordinance (no cost to maintain)
total: 15,769 per year

Alamanac edict record for the last year:
126,000$
Does anyone know why there is this difference?
Even if literacy program is monthly instead of yearly, thats still $80,000 unaccounted for.

RE: Edict cost
Did you happen to issue any Tax Cuts? Issue a Lure The Rebels? Etc.? Besides the maintenance costs, there will also be the one-time costs just to issue several of the edicts during that year. Several of the edicts also have variable costs involved, usually based on the economic conditions on the island at the moment the edict was issued. For example, A Tax Cut issued right at the very beginning of the mission when you have only 50 residents and it will cost only a couple thousand dollars; issue a Tax Cut late in the mission when you have over a thousand residents and scores of businesses and it will easily cost > $100,000.

Question RE: Edict cost

Are you saying the edict menu quotes a fixed price per time period rather than a price linked to the numbers of people in certain segments of the population, which would be a variable total per time period?

I think you are right; Ie. Literacy programs and social security are linked to population dynamics; More unemployed, elderly & students increasing ss, while more children increasing lp, and perhaps more policemen increasing st.
