Sad Challenge Editor crash de game!
When I open the editor everything works right, I can save the maps and everything shake. The problem is when I change the description of the map, because it minimizes the game window and hides it in the system.

Before the 1.3 patch comes out I closed the edit window and the game returned to normal editing mode map, now, after the patch, quanddo I close the external editor, the game no longer opens and he appears on the taskbar windows.

If I use the task manager the game is not listed under "Applications." But he appears open in the "Processes" tab.

I have to close the process and then open the game again. If I do not close the process tropico4.exe the game no longer opens, even clicking on the icon of the new game.

Help me please, I can not shake the ediçãod maps and challenges to do my work right!

I use WinXP SP3, and this problem only happened after installing the 1.3 patch!
Thank you all!

Try changing it to Windowed mode (Options -> Resolution, scroll up, it's above 1024x768) to see if that allows you to switch between them without it crashes.

That's an interesting bug though ...

I would assume the crash for the editor is based on the window mode toggling crash. (The code would indicate it, given what's happening in both cases.)

EDIT: Does it also crash out when you alt-tab by any chance?

No!
When I change the programs using ALT + TAB the game works normally and back.
In the editor, when the game itself makes it decreases the window is hidden in the system!

In this case, after I close the external editor, I can no longer click on the window using the mouse, and can not even see the game open. I only know that the game is open into the task manager, where he remains active.

I'll post a picture for you to see the problem:

That's a fairly amazing bug. I updated my display drivers and my random crash on alt-tab went away (something about not updating them in 2 years might have caused that), but that's just weird.

Have you tried launching Tropico 4 after disabling all your memory-resident tasks? Judging by your task manager and system tray, you have a lot of programs running that may interfere with Tropico 4.

I have 4Gb of memory on the PC, the programs do not interfere with anything in the game.

And those programs were open only in order to show how the bug of the game. Usually I play with nothing open, just the game!

This bug is not common. The publisher of the game work right before patch 1.03. It was after doing the update in the game that started this problem. When the game launches the external editor and it minimizes the game window is hidden in the system. He does not close the game, just disappears and the windows no longer finds it open, although he continued working.

I posted this error just to know if you have more people with this problem, or if anyone has ever had and managed to solve, but I still play it normally. The only bad thing is that I needed to install the game and take the notebook to the internet when I open the game for him not to do automatic update, so I can edit the settings for editing maps with no problem, after I close the game, and send this to the PC Challenge has changed, so I just tucked the map as I want and voila!

Error boring, but I will not die because he did not! Tongue

RE: Challenge Editor crash de game!
A bit late to the party, but I have the exact same problem ( on Win XP) of losing the Tropico application in the taskbar but not the process, when switching to the challenge editor.

Is there's a fix ?
