When I first saw the news that Colonial Forts were making a comeback in Tropico 4 I was extremely pleased, as I remembered them fondly from the original Tropico. However, I am quite disappointed that no Colonial Forts appear at all on user generated sandbox maps, no matter what size the map is made. Ancient ruins seems to spawn on every sandbox map regardless of size, so what about Colonial Forts?

The main reason I would like to see Colonial Forts on sandbox maps is that I often enjoy creating some pretty oppressive dictatorships, and turning the Fort into a dungeon would be a great way to get rid of my most troublesome opponents. There are some Tropicans that don't deserve the luxury of a normal prison, so would the developers consider adding Colonial Forts to sandbox maps in the next patch? Thanks!

It would be a pretty sneaky bug if it managed to last this long and not be fixed, which makes me think that there are no Colonial Forts on sandbox maps for a reason, i.e. the developers intentionally made the game so that they wouldn't appear. Don't ask me why that would be the case, it just seems that the distinct lack of Colonial Forts on sandbox maps is too obvious to be overlooked......

So placing them in the map editor doesn't work for you?

I was referring to randomly generated sandbox maps, not maps created via the map editor. Ancient ruins appear randomly on such maps, but no Colonial Forts......

Am I really the only one that has noticed this problem? Please, speak up if anyone else has noticed it........

I guess the majority of users just create a challenge map if they want to have the fort in their sandbox games. I'll see what can be done about the fort apparently missing in randomly generated sandbox maps.

A bit late I know - but yes I would love to have fort on sandbox as well.
