Ladies and Gentlemen! Tyrants and Tycoons! Liberators and despots! After many, many years (Or was it hours) of work, many suicide attempts (Seriously, why can't I use [Strike]?) brainstorms later and blowing up Presidente's Palace (Not really, but I thought I'd say something witty...WHERE IS [STRIKE]?!) working in the Challenge Editor I proudly present to you...


This challenge heavily relies on Tourism and micro managing. There are some rather simple tasks, but they are much more difficult to accomplish due to time constraints.

You have from 1950 to 1985 to complete this map. Also, if you fail ANY task, and I mean ANY task, you WILL lose the game. Please leave a comment if you think it's too harsh, and I'll get back to you.

I hope you enjoy, and since this is my first project, I'd be happy if you go easy on me. I'm not really that good at creating maps. Thanks for understanding.


EVERYTHING BELOW THIS POST MAY BE CONSIDERED AS A SPOILER, PLEASE PROCEED W/ CAUTION! Also, Caps Lock makes my post more important, apparently. The more you know!

Good job on your first challenge. A couple of things:

1) The game didn't end in 1985. Even beyond 1985 it didn't end.
2) There was no "final task" (not sure if there was supposed to be).
3) One of the tasks was to have $100,000 in the bank in a certain time period. I easily met that, but nothing happened and the task stayed on the task bar the entire game, despite me having several hundreds of thousands of dollars.
4) Penultimo issued three edicts. However, those didn't issue and weren't available. I also didn't have a ministry at the time.
5) I think the first task should have another couple of months added to it since it takes awhile for farms to produce food and that needs to register to increase food quality.

Hope those help as you work on version 2.0.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad the challenge works and is playable.

I'm going to try and patch up the bugs ASAP, but I am currently loaded with schoolwork so it may take an extra day or two. And it's weird that that the game didn't end. I should review this...

As for edicts, I've set them to "Force Edicts". Maybe I did something wrong.

As for the first task, I've brought it down from 75 to 60, but it seems it's still too difficult. I'll see if I can add a couple more months.

PS: I think I know why the game didn't end. I've put the timeout value to 168 months >.<
PPS: The final task was "Carpe Le Diem and all that stuff..." I'll make it clearer.

Updated challenge. Hopefully it works.

Sorry to report that I had problems with this - I reached the 60% food satisfaction very quickly but it did not trigger the challenge - instead about 18mths after I had hit the 60% satisfaction I was told that the time-limit had elapsed even though by this time I was at about 80% satisfaction.....

Also I never received any final challenge - I left the game running until the year 2001 and just had to abandon it
