Kalypso Media is inviting gamers to take to the skies with a single-player demo for Airline Tycoon 2. The new demo offers players a taste of the game in the form of three campaign missions. In the role of the playable character Tuppolevsky, gamers will be able to plan routes through a huge variety of airports around the world while customizing four different models of aircraft and maintaining the finances of their airlines. Awesome - now I get a teaser.

Me, like most of the world is waiting for the Digital Download cause nothing gets to Australia fast (or cheap) enough...

It's great to see a demo of the game before release. Unfortunately, on my PC the demo hangs at the loading screen "Testing turbines...". Is anyone else having this problem? I have cencelled my preorder for now but it would be good to know if this problem has been fixed in the release version?

It's funny though how u can download the demo online, but you can't buy the real game and download it online before the 21th. Seems stupid -.-´

Either way it will have to do,
i live in nz and probly cant do digital download for a while due to internet problems but at least there is a demo to play.

i played the demo today, i will buy the full game next week,
but i have some questions.
can you talk to other tycoons?
are there any phones ?
can you make cooperations with other tycoons ?
in main lobby of the airport i don't see any other tycoons at all?

I played full version:

-no u can't talk to other tycoons
-no usable phones
-no cooperations
-you can only come across the other tycoons on the upper business floor. you are the only tycoon which goes for a walk in the public terminal area and you are not allowed to see the gates/lounges from other tycoons


the game has changed a lot to AT1.
The demo gives a good impression of what it is like.
Don't expect too much from full version.

I played demo as well, some disappointed, it seems lost much features of AT1.. So said...

Yea i am playing demo today, about to loose last mission so i will try againg tomorow, some things that are gone witch is sad but the game isn't bad and i wll by the game as soon as i have the money and the digital download is avalible.

I downloaded the demo version to see how it worked, but when i pick campaign it takes me to the game and it says to click on the door. only one problem the game is dark i cant see where anything is. how am i suppose to play the game if i dont know how to see where and what i am doing

I must say the demo is quite a big disappointment to me. I managed to break it within the first five minutes of playing the tutorial by misclicking, getting out of a menu in which I should've stayed a bit more and then going back in.

Also, the pathfinding for the passengers is absolutely horrible.

Generally, I'm wondering if you did any kind of testing of the game other than "does it start?" My god what a turd of a game when compared to it's predecessor. Don't get me wrong it looks nice, but the UI is really bad. Double clicking/clicking twice to perform an action in a menu? That's like going to the baker and having to say "I want a loaf of bread" twice before you actually get it. Weird

Based on the demo I won't be buying it. Hell, I won't even download it, that's how bad I think it is to be honest

i have a question why cant you see the lobby full of people. in the first game you always saw the travelors checking in and waiting t the gate. i played the game and after starting flights and all the terminal is still empty
