Hey all, first post here! Just wondering Kalypso is there any cheats in Airline Tycoon 2 like there was with AT1? I remember the donaldtrump one fondly Now dont everyone have a go at me for 'ruining the game e.t.c' im only asking if there is any. Thanks

There are cheats for sure, check "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kalypso Media\Airline Tycoon 2\init\quest\cheats"

But i don't know how to activate them.

Ah yes ive just found this. No idea what it means though. Maybe a helpful member of admin or fellow members could tell us how they work?

I went to that folder if you open the file in notepad it does give you some info and in the plane one it says <hashkey.st>active</hashkey.st> maybe pressing Hash does something?

I have tried the hash key and nothing has happened

i just found a way to cheat......

1. go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Kalypso Media\Airline Tycoon 2\init\quest\mission then the mission folder you want im useing mission 3 as example
2. open mission_xx_goal_player_0.qst in notepad (xx = the mission number)
3. near the bottom you will see thid <value.f>0.75</value.f> just change the 0.75 to what ever 0.xx number you wish.
4. load the game load a saved game or a new one i set it to <value.f>0.10</value.f> and loaded my save game for this mission and it loaded and after a few seconds it went to the office and i had Won!

i assume this can be done for all mission goals fun if you find a mission to easy change the <value.f>0.75</value.f> to make it harder and so on

hope this is intresting to people

How about changing money without effecting other players.

I take it that the cheats are only for campaign only then not the freeplay

nope go back to the quest folder(C:\Program Files (x86)\Kalypso Media\Airline Tycoon 2\init\quest) and open up freeplay.qst and do follow the same instructions

Changing the starting money in freeplay is useless as you can set it to whatever you want.

Yes on the freeplay you can select whatever start money you want but all 4 players get the same amount so bigger your starting money harder to be bankrupt and for other players too.

I have looked in there but what do you change though to make more money

I wouldnt know maybe there is a Value you can edit in the save file but the save file hold alot of jumbled up field and is very hard to understand. your best to wait untill someone makes a money Trainer or the Kind creators of this game let us in on some ingame secrets

Ah so thats where editing the way i said comes in handy beacause your only editing the Field for your player not theres they will only see the basic value as where if you added a 0 to the end of yours you would get A load more to start with than them theres just goes up normaly where as yours goes up starting at the value you set. ill have a go with it see what happens

Won't let me do it! CBA with mission 3 so really want to skip it, but every time I try to save using mrbenjamin's method it says access denied.

Talking about this... we can make a superplane faster than light and that can carry 10000000000000 passengers, all by the amount of 1$ hahah

the speed function is k*(thrust - drag)/weight

So dont put weight = 0 because something divided by zero is NaN.

Could the ppl who made the cheats plz upload them here? Because why would you add cheats to a game that no-one knows.

I have just tried that and it didn't work on both mission and freeplay.

I'm sorry for the last post, I have tried it again and it works fantastic against other computer users. It's easy now for the other computer users to go bankrupt while the player has got plenty of money.

Hello!!! I am officially stuck in mission 3 for weeks now! So I decided to do what you said. I did all those steps and opened file "mission_03_goal_player_0" and changed the value but there is one problem.. It won't save my file!!therefore it cannot change..:-( did u have any dramas with saving it? it says "cannot create the "C:/Program files...goal player ).gst" make sure the file path and name are correct....

Ummm I just wanted to ask. Do you happen to have ran or running the game while you try to change and save it? Also can you right click the file and choose properties and see if the read only option is ticked in the "general" tab? Yu should try to change that before starting the game.

NICE!!!!! Tried typing it in as shown and all I did was break the alarm as it did nothing, so copied and pasted the stuff in step 4 above and now it works great. Now I wont have to wait 30 days to have enough money to buy a plane and can finally win Challanage 6. Thanks!!!!!

Looks like this will update all player funds to $500,000,000 so I got sneaky and purchased 4 large planes and ran up a huge negative balance before I hit the fire alarm to take away some of the effect of giving to the AI players $500MM as well. This allowed me to get 2 long haul routes up and running to make some money fast. Am I correct in thinking this updates all player balances?

ADDED: 11/17 actually after further exploration it does NOT look like this updates the AI players funds too. In Freeplay you can see their balance in the objective seciton of the daily statistics report and I've watched that after using the fire alarm and did not see their funds go up. I tried it a couple of times so I'm fairly sure it only updates the player funds so this is truly a great way to get an advantage early in the game.

Tried a few times unticked the read only box on the file properties and just go accessed denied whenever tried to save it.
