Tropico 4 Now Available on Xbox 360

Bracknell, UK –21st October 2011

Kalypso Media UK is pleased to announce that Tropico 4 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft is now available in retail outlets throughout the UK and European territories. Recently released to critical acclaim on Windows PC, Tropico 4 puts players in the role of El Presidente, the newly elected leader of the island of Tropico.

Tasked with turning the island from a banana republic backwater into a global superpower, players will develop the island’s economy while dealing with global superpowers and the island’s citizens in a fine balancing act that will test players’ political, financial and social acumen.

Tropico 4 sees you return as El Presidente, the tyrannical (or benevolent) dictator of the island paradise of Tropico. The world is changing and Tropico is moving with the times – geographical powers rise and fall and the world market is dominated by new players with new demands and offers – and you, as El Presidente, face a whole new set of challenges.

If you are to triumph over your naysayers you will need to gain as much support from your people as possible. Your decisions will shape the future of your nation, and more importantly, the size of your Swiss bank account.

Tropico 4 features all new missions across new maps and includes exciting and fun new features to keep the action fresh and challenging. You can even elect ministers into power to help get your more controversial decisions passed through the government. But remember to keep your friends close and your enemies closer as everyone has an agenda!

RE: Tropico 4 Now Available on Xbox 360!
Please create a new category for the 360. I am so hooked on this game and about to beat level 20 but it has taken me forever to get here because the game freezes up my console constantly! I have to save every 5 minutes and hope the save doesn't freeze and corrupt the save, so I have to save on different slots. As you know...it takes a few moments to save....and 5 minutes of gameplay could be filled with good decisions or bad or luck of the draw on what's going to happen. These freezes need to be fixed and quick!!!
I'm so mad like you can't believe. That 5 minutes was 10 years of accomplishments. I had almost a million bucks and an awesome island growing. The only save that will load was 10 years back. I have 50,000 bucks and I have to no idea how to rebuild....again!!!! It's taken two months to play a game that I should have beaten 3 times by now even as the worst of leaders to get the achievements. It's fun, but there's other games to play. This one might go in the garbage and I won't be buying 5 if you don't update and fix these problems.
Just in case you want to know how to build a game that people want to buy over and over...check out Call of Duty. I know you don't have their budget...but at least you can fix your bugs. I've never seen the message "this game has an update" when loading it.
Please update or lose lots of business on the 360 side of your company.

Does anyone else have this problem, that the console/game is freezing? At this moment it looks like that this is a single case.

Had it a while now, only had one or two freezes when you have large pop (over 600) or the blimp ect floating about, becides that it looks and runs 99% fine

I also sometimes got that problem. It happened in mission 9 or 10, can't really remember: after reaching population 610 and saving manually, my console stuck, I couldn't use Xbox Guide Menu or anything, only unplugging helped. And the save file was corrupted then, so I had to load the auto-save.

Anyways, thanks for the great game, I just love Tropico 4 for Xbox 360.

The crash limit has been increased from 400 to 600? The game does feel less buggy though. Smile
Anyway, did Haemimont fire all the artists?

dear Kalypso,

I suggest you read your other posts in the tropico 4 crash reports, It is in no way 'A ONE OFF'!!!!
I've suffered constant crashes, freezes, corrupted saves, slow downs, menus mixed with backgrounds, all of which can only be solved by a hard reset of my console which can't do it any good.
This IS NOT triggered by any specific date, population number, building density tc but gets massively worse as these numbers increase. I've suffered save freezes with less than 250 pop!

Unfortunately I purchased the DLC within playing the first level, so impressed with the game was I, as it transpires I've blown my money on a game thats been getting reported problems on xbox360 since the game came out without one single update to rectify the problem.

You are ruining a very good game by your continued lack of response and support in dealing with this problem, to the point where I don't even want to play the game any more, as one of the above will happen and waste several hours of game play, get it sorted!!

Maybe it would help if you mentioned the console you're using? There are several versions of the Xbox, I have an Xbox 360 S (the slim glossy version) with a 250GB drive. I just play off the disc, I haven't installed it to the drive or anything.

I've played every campaign mission several times, likewise with both the DLC missions. I've never had a crash or lockup. It does get a bit sluggish when the population gets over 500, but I've never had a problem saving or loading games.
