Faction elimination?
While playing T1 I frequently liked to rule as an absolutist. and one thing i wished i was able to do was "exterminate" an entire faction. Like if the enviromentalist faction was giving me a problem, instead of individualy eliminating them i could just issue an edict to eliminate the entire faction. Will T3 have this?

RE: Faction elimination?
id disagree with this entirely, maybe a suppression edict that discourages most people in highly policed zones from joining or would lessen the rate that enthusiasm is gained in said factor for people without the whatever radical or convicted personality types are included as when you start making matyrs the flag waveing sort will take a serious boost to their cause but the average bloke probably wont want to be shot.
But the individually adding to the list was part of the fun of the first, just being able to say call for the death of a large number of people and then follow up with a every witness and cross your fingers and hope for the ever elusive popular uprising.

Do you really mean "mass murder" of all the supporters (at any '+' level) of a faction?

If so, I really hope the developers are above such crudities. I don't think an edict even just to "brain-wash" all a faction's supporters into forgeting the faction would add anything to the game.

RE: Faction elimination?
Eliminating intellectuals, or any other faction, is way too crue. I mean, latino american dictators all not like Hitler and Stalin.

I'm a traditionalist.

If you wish to eliminate a faction, you should have to do it by shooting its members... one at a time WinkSmile

Exactly! And you do it by carefully set priorities:
  • +++ first, especially if very unhappy & disrespectful
  • ++ next, with the highly disrespectful at the head of the line
  • + may not need any attention after the others are dealt with.
.
That's not micro-management; it's just intelligent game play.

shooting a few usually shuts the rest up for a good time.
in my opinion. eliminating an entire faction is too much hard work. i prefer to shoot a few and let the rest think they're next

Of course, none of the units/people "think", now do they!

Unless they are family members or close by the shooting, they don't even know about it. The faction members don't relate to each other.

At least not in this simulation. But T3 could add something, but it's doubtful.

Don't get carried away with the verisimilitude.
