RE: DLC Price - Devs Please Read

As an example, take a look at Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead. Valve adds regular, free DLC for these games out of respect for their fans. It is partially what makes them so successful.
Well i wouldn't say no to some Free DLC! Infact i enjoy that sorta stuff, as it really does feel like a bonus. But i don't think they are at the point that they just push out DLC to cash crab. I've been watching how they have been running this game and some of their other titles, and seeing how some that didn't sell well, they didn't continue. Just look at "the last templar" I still havent purchased this game, but they have already stated there wont be a follow-up, which is unfortunate as it did seem to have a really neat concept. (one day ill pick it up) Dungeons on the other hand sold fairly well, atleast well enough that they ended up making the multiplayer expansion. Tropico is in this catagory. Right now, the game is getting support so the publisher is putting more into the creation with the studio.
the studios making these games are pretty small in comparison to others and they do have bills to pay. Besides, the DLC they have released is really not that much of a huge game changer, so in that sence it's not like your really missing out if you don't get it. But the DLC just isn't a building. Perhaps the building did get cut from the orginal release, But they added traits, outfits, and even a custom mission. Thats a bit more work than most people think. Your probably looking at a good 200+ hours atleast for each one, perhaps even more on those little DLC's, amimator/graphics, coders, story writer, Q&A, it's definatly more work than an afternoon and poof it's finished.
I guess time will tell.. But i know i have really enjoyed this title, and many others under the kaylpso banner. Infact i can't wait for the new one from novacore coming Q2. Im even more excited for that than modern times.. though i will most likely be picking that up as well. Unlike other games from other companies that will remain nameless that i've decided to just wait for gold packaging..
