Game crashes on world map and combat map (1.06)
I can recreate the crash over and over in 2 different ways and in 3 different patch versions.
Here are the different scenarios of the crash:
(1.06)
-Made new game. -> Liberated airport. -> Liberated road block next to airport. -> Liberated Drassen. -> Traveled to Cambria mine and the game crashes to desktop during the loading screen.
After many attempts, I decided to give up and skip Cambria mines for now till a new patch comes out. I went to try the farm to the west of Cambria and it did load, but then when I scroll my screen to where the enemies are located, same crash.
-Made new game. -> Left airport immediately (not liberated) and went to Cambria mines. Same crash.
-New game. -> Left airport -> Went to farm, crashed when viewing the enemies again.
I got the same type of crashes on both my saved and brand new games.
I then uninstalled the game, saves, and then reinstalled to new directories and same directories and performed the same actions as above on 1.05 and 0.91 with the exact same results.
My specs:
Win XP SP3
2.41 GHz Intel Core 2
2 GB Ram
NVidia GeForce 8800 GT
Video, sound, DirectX are all up to date and reinstalled just to verify integrity.
Also, if anybody with XP SP3 could try making a new game and going directly to Cambria mine I would appreciate hearing of your results.
At this moment I am pretty much unable to progress any further in the games questline.
Thanks for any help.
*Edit*
Some more data:
Areas that instantly crash upon loading:
-Univercity near Cambria
-Road block below water pump
-SAM site near Cambria
-Junkyard
Areas that load and dont seem to crash: (waited around 60 seconds before moving to next test site)
-Waterpump
-Cambria
-Alma
-Tixa
-Hideout south of Cambria
-Hideout north of Cambria
-Farm east of San Mona
-San Mona
-Hideout south of San Mona

I am sorry to your you are experiencing problem with Jagged Alliance. We will try to help you as best as we can.
First of all: How did you manage to try out the game on Patch 0.91 and 1.05?
Many greetings,
Chris
Sure, Im not sure exactly how it works. My neighbor is able to keep copies of files or folders that have been modified or updated. I think its a feature of Windows 7 or something. So anyway he has a ton of folders from .91 all the way to 1.06. I figured I would try the second most recent patch, then the oldest he had to cover the full range.
If you like, I can try some of the other versions as well, but Im assuming that since the problem ranges from .91 to 1.06, it will also be in between.

Hm. Not sure how that works myself. But I would suggest deleting all local files of the game and reinstalling it via your Steam Client again and wait for all the updates to download. Just to make sure that no file mix-up has occured.
Many greetings,
Chris
Thanks Chris, that was actually one of the first things I tried. I'm convinced that there is a sound, item, texture, or some other entity loading up in these certain zones that is causing the game to crash. The annoying thing about this is I can't seem to find any other posts about this problem.

Yes I did. I also re-downloaded it a few times, just to be on the safe side.
