Grading schoold is a trap!
Hey
Last night i was playing mission 10 where you have to build a grading school very early on and set it to "spelling bees".
I did that and then regularily checked for graduates.
By the end of game I had 2! The two graduates graduated rather early and then the school stopped to kick out the little ones completely.
Most of the time i had two teachers and children filling up all slots.
My oldest child was 34.
What went wrong?
Best, PF

RE: Grading schoold is a trap!
I have never seen it myself, But have heard one other person mention it. I have to think it is a pretty rare bug, that is hard to repeat.
that said.. the best way to use grade schools is you really need a lot of them. typically i have 5-8 on an island of 500 600-700 people.. I have had as many as 12-15 on larger islands.
I must say they really do work though. Atleast a few of the settings i have used. Spelling be is Huge for geting peoples intelligence up for those later high end jobs. And the best part is if you have been growing through births, that makes your late game really smooth as everyone wants to goto collage and get good jobs.
the other one i find great, is the re-education. This one turns your tropicans so docile they wouldnt protest if they lived in a garbage dump.
the other setting, for feild trips i havent used at all, it gives a random skill on graduation, But i don't know if that makes the tropican more apt to work at that job or not. If soo it would be great, if not it seems kinda pointless, Unless you are having a hard time filling unskilled worker jobs, then i would choose this option.
If you are having trouble getting people to fill high end jobs, swap to the final mode which lets anyone goto school and gradute.

RE: Grading schoold is a trap!
Ok, interesting.
I'll try to reproduce this issue.
My first idea is tabbing out of the game. Maybe the program doesn't have a proper check when it is re-initialized after tabbing back.
Cheers!
