When this game was announced, I remember that the official homepage said this game would have an online mode that would us to play the game with friends in a co-op campaign.
Is this still confirmed or they axed it?

Someone from Kalypso said one time that this changes was still made under the development from the Games Company, but they didn't make this public. The infos in my mind right now are an game like Witcher/Gothic/Two Wolds/Insert an other of this games here, they are all the same for me, but this one is an DSA game and this makes it intressting for me, but: They all didn't have an co-op mode, so why this one?
Because a lot of companies are putting co-op for they know online mode is very popular these days. A lot of people simply dont buy single-player anymore.

You're saying single player doesn't have replayability? If so, you're not playing the right games .
Online mode has been hugely popular since the early 90's. Many people still like single player games for several reasons. One they can play at their own pace, two they don't have to deal with jerks on the internet, three they can offer more challenge and depth, and four probably more.
There have always been different kinds of people that play games, and there always will be. Even in the 80's they talked about the many differences between console and computer players. Today it's more blurred with availability, but it doesn't mean differences in player types aren't still around.

I am not saying single-player games dont have replayability, but it is very rare for me to replay a single-player game, only exception being Mass Effect and Dragon Age. When it has co-op, however, it is always worthy.
As for the jerks on the internet, I really couldnt care less, since I have my list full of friends I selected.
Also, the good thing about co-op games is that you can play it alone if you want. But when it is single, you cant play co-op.
