Just curious if anyone is keen to answer.... what age group and gender are you? The only friends I know personally who play Tropico games are all men in their 30's. As a lady, I feel a bit left out sometimes. LOL.

So I'm 35 and are obviously female.

Anyone else keen to share?

I have been playing Tropico since Tropico 1 and I loved every bit of it!

31 male, I have been playing Tropico ever since Tropico 1 came out. The Tropico series probably remains my favorite game(s) of all time, which says alot because I am quite the avid gamer.

I know quite a few female gamers, so you're not alone.

44 and male

Played the DOS version of SimCity "back in the day".

Loved city builders ever since.

22 and male

City builder games made me the mathematically inclined, financially savvy, fluent English speaking person that I am today. I fondly hark back to a life-changing Tropico 1 eureka moment - Tropico 1 made the 10-year old me realize the essence of Tropico, simulation games, and real life: keeping the "income" equal to or exceeding the "expenses" part, before I even knew what "income" and "expenses" actually meant lol

my first city builder game was simcity 4 then i found tropico 3
then i addicted to tropico

I'm starting to feel really old...

29, Male. Played Sim games since A-Train on the 286. Entered the franchise with Tropico 3: Absolute Power since I felt I could do with a game where I couldn't quite indulge my instinct to make perfect but ineffective grid-based cities.

I'll probably still be playing Tropico and other Sims games when I'm in my 70's too! My kids, master 6 and miss 8 love the Tropico series and the Sims series, so I'm successfully training my successors.

And about city building games... Well i started with Sim city on Atari soon after i stopped being a baby. So ive been more or less addicted to games since i was 4.

I know from personal correspondence with both CoconutKid and Bushface that they are both 78 - I've seen CoconutKid in the old Cafe Tropico forum and Bushface in the CivFanatics forum (Sid Meier's Civilization Series) although Bushface is no longer active there nor in this forum anymore.

31 and male. My 33 year old wife also plays. I've been playing since the first Tropico and have played them all. Tropico 2 was so much fun. I loved the pirate theme...

totally agree. though i just played T2 for the first time last week! I can't beleive i delayed playing it mainly cause i listened to all the bad stuff people said about it, how it wasn't tropico. IMO, it is the most tropico of all the tropicos! Does that make sence?


i just turned the big 40.. and male.. though this thread gives me hope that one day i will find that magical girl that is a gamer and a stratagy/sim freak and a startrek geek just like me... (talk about narrowing my options for true love....)

49 .. male from UK.. married with two kids couple cars, mortgage, works from home on flexi hours which allows me to game when the mood takes me just normal stuff
