every single of one of these were forum posts i saw people talk about... that is a ton of improvement directly due to forum feedback. great job doing the little things that make the game so much more polished.

Agree, I would like to know some details as well - is for example the function "Building parameters" (or "building properties") fixed; e.g. can I change now the upkeep of buildings or alter the number of persons they can have as inhabitants, customers or workers?

RE: Tropico 4 - Update 1.05 - Changelog
Any news on when this is going to be out on Steam? My version's still on 1.04.322... I have auto-update on as ever, and I have pre-ordered Modern Times, if that makes a difference.

RE: Tropico 4 - Update 1.05 - Changelog
I keep hitting refresh or reload on Steam too waiting for the patch to come through. Knowing Steam it will be a couple of days.

According to Steam, I still have 2 days 14 minutes to wait for Modern Times so I guess the wait for the patch will be just as long. Sad

RE: Tropico 4 - Update 1.05 - Changelog
Hello guys (and girls?), I'll go ahead and answer some of your questions.

The update will go live on Steam in a couple of days, probably at the same time with Modern Times.

There's still a population limit, removing it is not technically possible.

Here are the Challenge Editor changes:
- the Place Deposit action always works
- labeling citizens by education works properly
- setting Max Workers, Upkeep, Housing Quality (and possibly other parameters I can't remember right now) in Building Parameters action fixed
- the Give Money per Object action now reports the proper amount of money given in the on-screen notification that appears
- added a Save button in the Mission Properties editor

I wish I had some more time to work on the Challenge Editor, but unfortunately we had more urgent issues to deal with.

However, in Modern Times there are quite a few new things to play with in the Challenge Editor. It has several new actions and supports fiddling with the exclusive Timeline feature of Modern Times. You can also include the new buildings in your challenges. Challenges made with Modern Times will be visible only to other users who have the DLC though.

Can be made some patch that (Dictator will say!) Now! you cant have more people on your island and send all secret police agent's to kill all pensioners? Smile
(for example?) in stand of let the game crash?

Ok one more, i still don't see a point to earn money for suisse bank account!
There should be a possibility to spend it!

If i read between the lines here... It is not techically possible, as many machines could run into problems with an increased population limit. You can how ever Mod it and be unsupported by kaylpso..

Bravo Kalypso! I must say I was skeptical, but delighted that you've delivered and added the scroll speed option, making the game playable again for me. I'm one very happy camper and have just purchased Modern Times and all the DLC. Keep up the great work!

Perhaps that is because they don't either. Or maybe they rush to answer without thinking about the questions.

My experience says that if I reach the population limit, my game gona [immediately without any warning has to] crash!

Update (patch) to version 1.03 contained this change - Population limit raised to 1500 (can your machine handle it?). Update (patch) to version 1.05 does not change that limit.

I think it is not a language barrier to know that you, the player, have to be responsible to look at the clues the game gives you about the current population and to take steps to limit population growth when you approach the limit in order to avoid a crash.

Of course, that is not important now that you can understand the language which tells you how to use Swixel's modification to remove any effective population limit.

Ok one more, I still don't see a point to earn [in earning] money for Suisse Bank Account! There should be a possibility to spend it!

It is a game artificality related to obtaining a big score. If you have to relate it somehow to the real world, consider that such secret bank accounts are to conceal fraud, theft and other kinds of corruption. If the holder open spends out of them, they reveal their crimes in having obtained the money. Such money is for personal, private\secret use. They are not simple investment accounts; the Nazis used them to hide their WWII loot. Think about it.

Wink

Still no fix for the colonial forts not appearing at all in user-generated sandbox maps?

CORRECTION: Colonial forts now DO appear in Sandbox maps. THANKS KALYPSO & HAEMIMONT!

My mine separator/crusher buyable upgrades are giving me a 0% bonus for iron production with patch 1.05. Will this be fixed soon? I posted this also in the 1.05 thread.

Thanks.

Yes, a time frame for the next patch would be nice. It is very frustrating to play when important bonuses are not working correctly. It causes gameplay to be less enjoyable. Not to mention it decreases the positive reputation I have for Kalypso.

Our Country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any AMERICA because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race!
