Getting back your custom Challenges?
Hi there, does anyone know if there is a way to get back the custom challenges you have created.
Uninstalled T4 a while back and reinstalled it to play the new expansion/dlc now. Forgot to back up my two challenges i made (Isla Muerte and Isla De Los Suenos) i can see them in "my profile" and play them etc but theye are not present in the "Manage" section and thus i cant edit them. Anyone know if there is some way to get them back?
Also anyone knows if there is any way of converting a T4 vanilla challenge to a Modern Times one since there really is no difference as far as i can see in the challenge editer more than the new Modern Times buildings.

Cheers!
Never mind found out how to grab it during the download and loading process.

RE: Getting back your custom Challenges?
If i had to guess you would have to open the challenge in the editor and resave the game. That might work, then again it might not.

I don't know exactly how it all deals with the new expansion, as timo said the campaign won't work with modern times. The challenges are basically sandbox+scripts so it might be just that simple.

that would also flag the challenge as needing the moderntimes expansion to play.. (i could swear i read somewhere that you need the DLC to play challenges made with DLC) Though i may be wrong. I wonder how the other DLC effects challenges as well, I haven't bought any of them yet.

Did you check to see where you DL the mission? I think when you download one it saves someplace. If you can copy and move that to re-edit i'm not sure. If not, perhaps support can help you get a copy to work on.

You do.

You can't 'edit' a challenge from a download without a lot of fiddling and non-user-levels of access.

I think he lost it (them?) in the uninstall, but if that's not the case, it (they?) should be in %APPDATA%\Tropico 4\Challenges as HPKs.

RE: Getting back your custom Challenges?
I figured it out, just grabbed the file from the appdata/tropico 4 folder when the game had downloaded the challenge map online and started to load it. Comes up as temp.hpk just did a quick copy of it (it goes away after the loading is done) and renamed it and threw it in the Modern Times challenge folder and uploaded them as modern times challenges. Works quite well.
Don't matter right now though. Uninstalled Modern Times since it replaces building instead of adding new ones, feel quite ripped of atm. Bought all the other DLC as well adding to my ripped of feeling. Not buying into this series again.

I think timo said something about the two not being compatiable for the campaigns.. But that said.. I don't understand why you can't just do a seperate install.. Just install modern times into a new folder and the problem should be solved..
