I am starting to hate canned goods... (Modern Times Campaign: Keep Calm Carry On)
As far as I can tell this mission is bugged. Or at least, the way the objectives are set up, it is very likely that you will instantly lose when it checks the canned goods index at 200.
Either way, bug or design choice, I hate it. Tropico 4 is my get-away game, where I can just relax, and this issue has been particularly annoying. Something like the ranch bug I can ignore for a bit, but this is game-breaking.
Kalypso, I hope you patch this quickly.
(And toss in a fix for the new ranch not having any work modes, even though the description says it does...)

The way around it is to wait until you get the "Export $30,000 of Canned Goods" objective and then cut production. Fire and lock out some workers, set it to Easy-Does-It mode and such.
Then wait for the canned goods index to rise to 250 or above. Then complete the objective.
As to ranches, there's no work mode. They produce Smoked Beef, Goats Cheese and Llama Wool all at the same time.
Oh okay... I'll have to try that. You are right, and I agree -- I can't believe this mission made it through play-testing and nobody realized how crazy the win/lose triggers are.
As for the ranches, the description had me really confused, because it says that it has a work mode that determines what it makes, then there is no option to set a work mode.
