I hope you're knowledge of the German language is well enough.

The international (English language) release isn't scheduled until the end of august.

the game will be released worldwide (beside german pc version which will be released on may, 4) on pc and console end of august / beginning of september, depending in which territory. as soon as we know the exact release dates we will let you know.

Walt - are you saying that your Post about End of August for the anything other than the German version needs to be updated.

The version released on the 3rd May will support have an English Language option?

Yes - you load games on to more than one machine BUT you can only play one at a time. If you try to log in more than once you get an error "Your account is currently in use at another machine".

So no playing aginst yourself at multiplayer, unless you buy twice. Big Grin

hahahah......thanks for the quick response. no im not going to play against myself. i have a laptop that i bought almost 3 years ago (Core Duo - Toshiba) and it might not work based on the requirements of the game. This is the same laptop im using to play PR2 (until now Big Grin).

but my wife is wooing me to buy her a laptop...so I might buy a new one and i pass this to her Big Grin she dont mind .... and a great reason why buy another laptop for me Big Grin

so if i buy this from stream, to be able to play this game, i need to be connected to internet??? or can i play this even if im not connected???

Steam does not require you to be online for most of the time. However, the game itself might require you to stay online (depends on publisher/developer's policy). Sure, over-internet multiplayer is hard while offline Smile

the game itself must not be online. the kalypso launcher looks for a connection to download patches and updates, but if there is no connection, the game will start. But you should get online sometimes, so that the two installation (PC and laptop) are at the same/latest version, it could happen that savegames are incompatible with older versions...

i don't know how it works with Steam offline mode, i prefer retail versions. Wink

Considering Patrician 4 wants to phone home every time you start it any ways (and thus very likely PR3 will too), having steam do the same isn't really that much more of a hurdle. But yes you can shift to 'offline' mode of the steam client where it won't require phoning home for a set length of time (I think its a month or so), then just pop online once and go back to offline again if you want.

Oh sorry, just the concept where a program will make a connection back to the company's servers for authentication purposes before launching itself. Thus even a program that does not need to use the internet for anything will still insist on requiring a connection to it before letting you use it.

this is my first time to use this system since i cannot find a retail company (EB games or Gamestop) that have this game release by May. im a big fan of this game since its original PR1. i bought a copy again of PR2 that can be played in the latest Windows from Bestbuy.

That's why because the worldwide retail release is in September - only PC version for germany will be shipped on May, 4.

Yes, English language support will be available for select countries on May 4th digitally, but not boxed retail.

Heh, sucks to be one of those people who really insist on their games coming in cardboard containers. Tongue May 4th vs September 4th.

PS: Don't think we didn't notice that you pushed the digital release back a day from the 3rd to the 4th.

Will the retail version in September then be English only or will it also contain German?

I suspect the September release will be Multilingual - all the supported languages included. With all the different language files included on the optical media, can't see why that wouldn't include German.

Less then a week now Smile Looking forward to capping my first ship of the line and seeing if the PR2's extended quest is still there along with its prize and if they are, whether or not you can abuse it the same way as you could in PR2 by assaulting the city of your wife to get a crack at another one Wink

More likely because it takes more time to get a master CD made, followed by pressing the CD's, as it takes to converting digital files from the Beta into downloadable files.
