I noticed that my autosave is broken for a reason ... is there anyway to activate it again ? the game hasn't crashed for sometime but I get a bit anxious !!! is there anyway to activate it again ?

I mean I bet that the game will crash in the next three hours ...

Edit : Latest update fixed this issue

There's always the option to manually save the game. It's what I do every 15-20 minutes or less, depending at where I am in game.

Oh really?... i didn't know that .... so sorry. What about auto-save though?

The AUTOSAVE is not directly configurable BUT if you look under APPDATA => KALYPSOMEDIA => PORT ROYALE 3 you will find OPTIONS.CFG it opens with NOTEPAD. [Take a copy first]

There is a section
[Autosave]
Timer = 480

that by default is set at 480 (I assume seconds) - change it to -1 switches AUTOSAVE OFF
Otherwise select the value you want.

Great and thanks, I disabled it and enabled it again and it didn't work. I deleted the old autosaves and nothing happened... Then I started a new (freeplay) game and the autosave worked again ... then I loaded my old game and the autosave worked properly!!!
I have the steam version ... there must be a bug somewhere ... Will keep you posted if it happens again.

Autosave stopped happening for me as well. I try to save pretty often anyway but it would be nice if autosave would just work like it's supposed to.

Mine is starting and stopping. If I start PR3 and start a new game then it works ... then if from the new game I load my old game ... it works for my old game too BUT until i quit the program. Next time I boot PR3 and load a game autosave stops working. If again i start a new game and load my game it works ...

I have to say that the game haven't crashed once ... which is a good thing .

But nevertheless there is a bug. And when it crashes I will be very frustrated.

Try this, taken from Timo's post in the bug reports thread:

The issue with the non-working Autosave feature can currently be fixed by not loading a savegame from the main menu but instead starting a new game (campaign or free play) and then loading your saved game. This will restore autosaving. The issue is identified and will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

I saw this too late. Was playing for 4 hours when my game crashed, and I had always assumed autosave was doing it's thing. I cant think about replaying those 4 hours now, I am just going to shelf this game for now and wait for some patch or two and then start over.
