Expect T3 playing T1-PI
Waiting for the Tropico3 I have installed Tropico Paradise Island on my PC (Vista, Intel Q6600, 4G RAM, Nvidia 8800GT 512MB driver186.18). The installation was quick and without any problems (original game 2 CD-Rom in Italian). The installation of the 2 patch 1.51 and 1.53 went smoothly. I played for about 50 hours, even with other applications in the background, and I have not found problems. There are only 2 minor drawbacks related settings:
1) does not accept the setting of "3D Hardware" (the screen image is strongly distorted)
2) there is no resolution 1680x1050

If anyone has a solution for these 2 small problems can publish it here or if "Tropic Reloaded" solves these problems (demand for "Timo
Kalypso Media ") I will buy.

Hello ggianfra!

The "3D Hardware" setting used by the game engine is for outdated graphics cards only and is neither needed nor recommended if you have a decent machine with a DirectX8/9-compatible graphics card. You won't miss any effects with the default software graphics setting.

Just like any other widescreen resolution, 1680x1050 is not supported by the game and can not be patched in with the Tropico Reloaded release.

Many thanks for the timely and comprehensive response. I can confirm that the graphics in "3D software" is very detailed and pleasant to watch.

Somehow that reminds me of Transport Tycoon and Railroad Tycoon.

(not very unlikely since Toppop used the same game-engine) Big Grin
