There are all over the place, some quite close together. One thing is very probable - they are not churches because they have no crosses on them.

I speculate they are government buildings of some sort:
  1. Police Station
  2. Armory
  3. Clinic
  4. Bath House / Public Laundry
  5. Elementary School / Child Care Center
  6. Urban Recreation Center
  7. NOT a fire brigade station - no big doors & too many of them

Some day we will know. Big Grin

Actually it's a Dock!

Lol you would be the one to know. Why?

From El_Prez on his "twitter" account.

If you look at the letter paper used in the decision letter in Screenie #7, you will get a clue about the new stuff El_Prez "tweeted".

Carcass nit-picked to bones deleted.

No, 'Coat of Arms' is the correct term. It's used for individuals, for groups of people, for institutions as well as for countries, states, provinces, towns and villages, in which case they belong to the Civic Heraldry.

The Coat of Arms of a country is a 'National Coat of Arms', your term 'National Arms' would just be a short for that, and to be honest I don't believe it's an often used short.

In other words, El Presidente didn't misuse the term Smile

Is looking forward to donning the El Presidente title again.

There's a difference between using synonyms of a word or term and stating that a term is wrong, while in fact it's perfectly correct.

But this is not the place for such a discussion Wink

Is looking forward to donning the El Presidente title again.

RE: TROPICO 3 interface screenshots released!
Checking out the mini map in the second half of the screenies, I noticed there were two 'areas' of buildings; one enclosed by mountain/hill/jungle and one closer to the beach, with only a narrow pathway between them. I presume that these are different 'neighborhoods' based on class (i.e. upper crust on the beach and then sprawling favelas) and I was wondering if there is some sort of game director which regulates zones based on class. I remember one slightly annoying feature of T1 is that homeless citizens would build their shacks almost anywhere, sometimes right next to the palace or luxury hotel. Such shackery is shameful to the Better Half of Tropico, and I am hoping that some government mandate will keep the poor in the shantytown.

Great screenies.

More people will be walking around when you increase your population, if you look closely at the screenshots you will see that there is only a population of 70.

Paranoia ! Ah it almost feels like we've got a geniuine dictator on our hands here.

Looks great! I hope it will be alot like the original Tropico, i still play it today.
And that's a rare thing these days since most games are rubbish or fun for like 1 week.

Anyways keep it up! Really looking forward to this one.

First post here! Big Grin

The screens seem nice. The interface really catches the good old tropican atmosphere.

CoconutKid Wrote:kingdom ?? I thought it was a "dictatorship".
I'm sorry if it was already explained, but I didn't took the time to read the whole thread. In this case "Kingdom" is a improper translation of the german word "Reich" which has no equivalent in English. It can also be translated as "realm", "nation" or "empire".

Thank you for your interest.

Yes, Reich is an interesting word. It has to be defined in English by all the words it can not mean. For example, it is not compatable with the concept of Republic. Bundes and Reich really do not fit together in any way. Or so it would seem.
