Nice subplots with the Space Shuttle
There are some spoilers here, mostly what comes up after you build the Space Shuttle, so if you don't wish to find out, read elsewhere.

I have to say, it was a nice touch to have a variety of missions that come up after building the space shuttle. It was a good surprise to see that there were actually more than 2 (and gives a variety of benefits)

From what I can find, they include:

1. Building a super soldier.
2. Doing El Presidente's secret project.
3. Search for intelligent life.
4. Broadcast El Presidente's message worldwild.
5. Try to land on the moon
6. Looking for the Higg's Boson

I've managed to do them all, except the the intelligent life one, mostly because of a bug that doesn't count swat team members properly.

What can you get from each one anyway? I know Higgs lets you have free media/education buildings.

(from the Tropico wiki)
1. $500,000 for the treasury or $100,000 for the presidente's Swiss bank account.
2. A permanent +30 boost in relations with the US and USSR and the death of some rebels every year.
3. All industry buildings are free to build.
4. Ziggurats costs 80% less ($20,000 each).
5. Every year, the treasury gets $40,000.
6. All education and media buildings are free to build.

RE: Nice subplots with the Space Shuttle
It's too random for my taste - if you get Secret Project on Customs and Immigration challenge, the space laser will kill all rebels at the end (otherwise, you'll need a standing army of 500 because the final wave targets your palace as opposed to the random waves that can be lured by the mausoleum).

Intelligent life and Higg's Boson are arguably a handicap since, when you get it, you have the funds to easily quick-build anything and the reward disables quick-build. It also seems a bit bugged - building prices went back up after demolishing a few banks. Ziggurat is pointless since Modern Appartments are still cheaper (5k for 60 families) and allow for more dense accommodation. 40k a year... meh.
