Dear Haemimont Games
Dear Haemimont Games and anybody else involved in making Tropico 4,
I just want to tell you guys as much as I love tropico, Tropico 4 including modern times (on 360) is a MASSIVE let down. For me it is virtually unplayable each time I save a game and go back to after it does not load it freezes at the loading screen. I have put hours and I'm sure many others have into making my island. I know about the Xbox 360 issues including the 600 pop limit (My population is around 580 down from 650) Please I beg of you to make a new patch/update for this problem, it's just not good enough to pay $100 for a game that is as buggy as hell.
Sincerely
A loyal customer which doesn't want to see this series be ruined just because of lazy programming.
ALL HAIL ALADEEN!

Patching console games is sort of expensive. That's also not the only post about that out there ...
Also, your issue is hardware. The 360 is ancient by PC standards. Do you have a new-ish one, or one of the original 2.4GHz ones? If it's a new one, then chances are you wouldn't see the problem, if it's an old one, it's even less powerful and there's your issue. And 512MB of RAM? On the PC Tropico uses 600MB+, so you might begin to see the problem.

I have the new 250gb Slim model. And I live in Australia so PS3/360 games range from $80-$100

I shouldn't post at 5:57am ... the 2.4GHz was a reference to the original WiFi / 3xUSB version, rather than to the newer ones (same wifi, but 5x USB, not sure what made me think of that this morning, but the new ones include the Slim). I need more sleep I think

It's newish then, which is sort of sad, given the CPU in it is the same as the originals ... the changes aren't huge from what little information is available, slightly better HDD throughput (margin, no real difference).
I'm also in Australia, but it doesn't change the fact that console hardware ages incredibly quickly and without new ones (which nobody wants to buy) the console versions of non-FPS games will always be inferior to the PC versions.
