RE: New Simcity trailer
I hope the multiplayer part will be optional: I prefer my citybuilding to be singleplayer.

Yeah, but EA prefers to keep its "customers" under control at all times. So, always online, even in single player you will never be alone...

Man this looks awesome, wow !

Well, I guess they will copy steam, and with steam you can also play offline.
You can hate EA & big corporations as much as you like, but such huuuuuuge, complex games just need a lot of money behind them to get them started. So it is only legitimate they use some anti-copy measures to get their investments back. This could have been a scientific simulation in the early computer age... And the way it looks, it will be worth every cent I'll give them. Man I'm looking forward to it!

If it's going to require Origin to play then it's a moot point since I wouldn't buy it.

So how exactly does that logic work? Overly restrictive DRM only hurts paying customers since it's always circumvented by pirates anyway. I've stopped buying and playing games from companies that have ridiculous DRM, such as Ubisoft. Pissing off paying customers isn't exactly the best business strategy.

Same goes here. They want piss people off then I'll keep my money and they can keep their game.

I have not discussed this whole 'anti-piracy' stuff before, but how would origin/steam hurt you? Other than not being able to re-sell it, I can not see a problem in o/s. I mean, what is actually required of you? That you make an account on some program, enter you name and email address and press 'send'. I have never received any spam from steam and until now, didn't hear of any misuse of my personal information.

Of course, once you forget your account name etc, you will have a bad time... that's why I'm afraid of uninstalling my Kalypso games Big Grin

P.S.: What does DRM stand for?

RE: New Simcity trailer
It looks Graphically pleasing, but I do hope more effort was put into making it more of an actual simulator, with an element of proper strategy, than just eye-candy.

Yeah I really prefer single player mode, I don't really want other players ruining my game-play after I've just got in from driving down from Scotch Corner to Norwich, on the busy roads, I just want to unwind and chill on my game...

I just hope and pray that my hopes are not shattered when it comes out.
