Please help me
I want to play Tropico 4 on my computer but first I want to make sure i can run it, since my computer is not brand new. So I downloaded the demo to make sure it runs correctly but, I got an error when I tried to play it. It stated "failed to initialize video mode", could somebody tell me what to do, I really want to buy this game. Thanks in advance.

RE: Please help me
You should still have logs in %APPDATA%\Tropico 4\logs

Could you please post one in [code] tags?

Also, you could please list your operating system (and service packs), graphics card, amount of RAM, and CPU (and/or speeds)? If you don't know this, you can use Piriform's Speccy ( http://www.piriform.com/speccy ; it's free ), as it'll give you what you need to check/list these.

Unfortunately that GPU won't work, and your RAM quantity is below specifications too (you need 2GB). If I recall that CPU is fine.

You would need more RAM and a better graphics card (most of the lower end ones are fine). Check against the game's specifications and the card's description if you go that route.

RE: Please help me
Landscape mode is "wide is longer; tall is shorter" (portrait is "wide is shorter; tall is longer"). By default you will be running in it. Switching between modes only makes a difference if there is a resolution issue.

Unfortunately, your graphics card does not support the shader model used in the game (none of the pre-3rd-Generation i3/i5/i7 Intels do properly), which prevents it from launching properly at all. You could try updating your drivers (if they are out of date) in a bid to get the integrated GPU working, but my understanding of that particular model is that it is highly unlikely at best.

yep, those integrated intel cards aren't worth much. Certain models, and certain games they have found ways around it, but its usually not pretty, forcing some lower graphical settings or such.

you can find a more than adequate card at newegg.com or similar retailer for less than $50.
