I have two main questions about the X'or. The first is, since they're robots, what type of planet, if any, is the best one to colonize for them? Also, since their ships are created by joining modules, what rules govern their ship creator, and what module types will they have other than military, civilian, and research?

Maybe desert then? An atmosphere would still be better than no atmosphere, though, but not an oxygen atmosphere.

Desert planets or very rocky, dry planets are very good for the X'or.
