I'm having a problem with Tropico 4:Modern Times. During Mission 3 in the campaign the game randomly turns off and shuts down my computer, no warning. One second running smoothly, the next I'm looking at a blank screen. Thought the problem might have being caused by autosave, turned it off, problem persisted. Problem now also occurs during sandbox gameplay. Anybody else having this problem/know of a solution?

Completely shutting down your computer sounds like your CPU cant handle the load and overheated. This is a common problem for summer time. I suggest taking it to an expert (preferably a friend, so you wont be charged through the nose) and have him clean out your computer's fans and put in some new thermal grease on the CPU.

Though, before you go to those extremes, it's best to go through a process of elimination first. Is Tropico 4: MT the only CPU-intensive game you play on the computer? If no, then do you experience any shutdowns on those other games as well? Is your graphics driver up to date? Is your computer in a well-ventilated room with at least a four inches of space on all sides (minus the bottom, of course)? Are your computer fans making more noise than usual when playing T4? Are your fans even working? Have you recently installed new or different types of RAM?

There are a LOT of factors that could contribute to a sudden shutdown. It's best just to stick with the easiest to figure out and then work from there with a friend.
