I suppose the steam members ask you, if you want add achievements on your game.

I love unlocked achievements on steam. (Not Achievements with Windows Live). You can put your achievements on the steam plateform.

We can see all games which have achievements ! Somes big productions (Empire: Total War) have achievements.

I don't work for Steam, but i have 429 achievements on steam ! (all games)

If you add steam achievements, i think you will have more sales.

Hey, I'm an achievement whore myself on Xbox, I understand ;-) When finishing a game, I'll go to gamefaqs or something like that and see if there is any low-hanging fruit to pluck.
