Hi All,

I'm trying to run the demo on my machine, but everytime I start it it minimizes itself, if Iclick on the "tropico" item in the taskbar the window show up briefly and minimizes again. I can see the videos playing everytime the window appear, so the game is running.

I tried the following:
Start as admin, in compatibility mode for XP SP2, forced 640x480 resolution, disabled all my screens but one (i have 3)... I cannot seem to find the solution.

Here is my config:
3 x 1600x1200 screens plugged to 2 NVidia GeForce 9600 GT
8 GB of RAM
Windows Vista Business x64 SP1
Intel Core2 Extreme CPU X9775 3.2 Ghz

Do you have something else running on your computer that is stealing the focus from Tropico 3?

My computer also runs our telephone service so when ever a call comes in Tropico 3 minimizes itself in favor of the phone system, same thing with a few other programs that I keep running in the background. If you have nothing else running then I got no more ideas, maybe someone else will.

Tropico 3 won't run in 640x480, so switching the resolution would be counter-productive.

I think this program sets the foreground window to itself, right? I also believe that pyttroll means that "something" is setting the foreground window to the desktop. That indicates that its possibly not another program doing this, although it -may- be.

That's what he tried to resolve it on his own. He found out that doesn't seem to work, so he posted here with all info he possibly knows of.

assen, have you got some useful suggestions to resolve this problem, for this and maybe many other potential buyers?

Unfortunately not. We'll try to reproduce it.

I haven't tried running on a 3-monitor machine, to be honest :-) But I don't think this is the problem.
