12th November 2013
Irish mobsters, Ku-Klux-Klan racists, a mysterious business man from the far-east and a beautiful Japanese woman – it’s time for another episode in the life of The Boss! Kalypso Media is thrilled to announce that ‘The Japanese Incentive’, the new expansion for the acclaimed gangster themed strategy game Omerta – City of Gangsters, will be available on Windows PC via digital download on 5th December for £14.99/€19.99/$19.99. ‘The Japanese Incentive’ will also be available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in early 2014.

‘The Japanese Incentive’ expansion offers budding mobsters a brand new and exciting single player campaign with new characters, storyline, weapons and cut scenes as well as unlocking new areas of Atlantic City, all ripe for the taking. There’s no time to let your guard down as there’s a new enemy AI gang in the city and they are looking to muscle in on your turf. It’s a story from a time when love was more important than keeping your cool, but sometimes losing your cool is the only way to get the job done.

Features of ‘The Japanese Incentive’
  • All new! -- Play an exciting new campaign with unique characters, storylines and cut scenes
  • Explore and Dominate - Discover districts of Atlantic City and its outskirts not yet seen in Omerta – City of Gangsters
  • Kill it with fire - new weapons include the katana, flamethrower and machine gun
  • The gang’s all here - Hire additional characters whose special new traits will help make quick work of your foes
  • Outsmart a new challenger - Battle for the city against an updated enemy gang AI
  • Pick a wheelman - Plan fantastic heists, then use lavish new cars and armoured vehicles for getaways
  • It’s all business - Take over new buildings like the security agency and the auto shop and put them to criminal use
  • Watch the world burn - Set the battlefield ablaze with a unique new “fire” feature, which makes the most of the new flamethrower weapon

I would have enjoyed this, but I'm switching to the Xbox One and will no longer have access to my 360 or the games that I owned for it. I know Kalypso doesn't seem all too concerned about that, since Tropico 5 isn't even coming out on the Xbox One, but I still hope you guys don't completely ignore the next generation. I love your games and have bought all of the DLC for Omerta, Port Royale 3 and Tropico 4.

Any new maps for sandbox?

We introduced two new sandbox maps with the free content update a while ago. "The Japanese Incentive" focuses on an entirely new campaign (with new maps, of course) and multiplayer maps.

The new AI will be available for all current sandbox maps, though.

Everyone already has the free content update, so why should it be included?

Along with the expansion, there will be yet another free content update to the main game, details to follow shortly...

The russian localization should be included in today's release version.

What i am saying is : is the new content pack for the original game and the future content pack for the coming expansion going to be auto inserted in the game via auto update ?

Or you will have to separately download the two content updates and update your game manually ?

It would be easier for the expansion to already include the first content update.

It says checking for downloadable content...please wait

But nothing happens. Game stays at default version. (v1.02)

P.S : There is basically no functional auto-update in game.

Try redownloading the game from whatever online store you purchased it from. That should ensure you have the latest version and access to the downloadable content you can then purchase.

Timo, are you still around? I'm having a problem with the Japanese expansion locking up when I use machine guns.
