i know that in most 3d applications you can modify the shortcut to the .exe your using (in this case your Tropico 3 shortcut) and add -window at the end of the target. dunno if it works with Tropico 3 or even if windows still uses it (iam in vistax64 and usually dont play in windowed mode).

It would be nice. My main computer also runs our telephone system and when games are running and the phone rings, I can't answer the phone because the software has not taken the focus away from the application in the desired amount of time. So those games that I play in a window don't have this issue, plus I do have a tendancy to multi-task when I'm playing games even.

I tried adding -w to the shortcut of the demo but it didn't do anything at all. It would be nice though.

Perhaps the full game offers this?

Sad, unfortunately unless Haemi steps up here and tells us of a secret code to do it, then I would have to guess that it doesn't exist and the game must be played in full screen.
